In a paywalled report, Digitimes claimed that NVIDIA is planning a bold move to spin off its operations in China by forming joint ventures with local firms. In response, NVIDIA told Chinese media outlet Jiemian News that the news is entirely false and without basis, adding that publishing unsubstantiated claims and speculation as fact is irresponsible. On April 17, at the invitation of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang visited Beijing and expressed his desire to continue cooperation with China during a meeting with CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin.
