We were seriously impressed by the Eufy SoloCam S340. Not only does the device boast two cameras, including one main 3K sensor and a second 2K telephoto for detailed zoom, but it’s also packed with premium tools that are normally reserved for more expensive models.
Perhaps most impressively to use was its AI tracking ability. Essentially, when the Eufy SoloCam S340 detects an event, the cameras automatically track whatever triggered the alert to provide you with detailed footage. During our testing, we found that tracking was smooth and “worked beautifully”.
Otherwise, the two built-in cameras means you benefit from 360° surveillance with no blind spots. Of course, you should consider where you place the camera to really make the most of this feature.
Speaking of which, we found that installing the SoloCam S340 was seamless thanks to the included wall or ceiling mount that the camera simply clips onto.
Also included with the SoloCam is a solar panel which either attaches to the top of the camera or connects externally via extension cable. We especially appreciate the inclusion of the solar panel, as it not only means you can keep your camera’s battery topped up without faffing around with chargers, but the fact it can be connected externally means you can place the panel in the optimum position to get the most power.
Finally, we couldn’t talk about a Eufy product without mentioning that it doesn’t charge any monthly subscription fees. That means you can simply buy your camera and not have to worry about a recurring charge.
Overall we gave the Eufy SoloCam S340 a 4.5-star rating, with Home Technology Editor David Ludlow hailing the device as “one of the most flexible outdoor security cameras.”
