This major new feature targets no more and no less than ChatGPT’s 800 million weekly users, and could well change the way we use creative tools on a daily basis. Concretely, no need to open a dedicated application or master sometimes complex interfaces. Now all you have to do is describe what you want to do, blur a background, improve a vacation photo, modify a PDF, to see ChatGPT bring up the appropriate Adobe tool and guide the user step by step. Adobe talks about conversational creativity, made possible by its work around agentic AI and the Model Context Protocol.
Retouch, create, modify… without leaving the discussion
With this integration, Adobe makes its most popular applications available in ChatGPT. Photoshop allows you to carry out targeted retouching on an image, adjust the brightness or contrast, or even apply creative effects, all in natural language. Adobe Express opens access to its library of professional templates, to quickly design visuals, invitations or content for social networks, directly from the chat. As for Acrobat, it becomes possible to modify PDFs, extract tables, merge documents or hide sensitive information without ever leaving the conversation.
For example, to blur the background of an image with Photoshop, the user can simply write: “Adobe Photoshop, help me blur the background of this image“.
The goal is to reach audiences who might never have opened Photoshop or Acrobat before, removing the technical barrier. As summarized by David Wadhwani, president of the Digital Media division at Adobe, the idea is to enable hundreds of millions of people to use these tools “only by describing what they wish to achieve“.

A strategy consistent with Adobe AI
This announcement does not come out of nowhere, Adobe has been increasing initiatives around conversational interfaces for several months. The company recently introduced Acrobat Studio, which can turn PDFs into AI-enriched interactive workspaces, as well as AI Assistants in Photoshop and Adobe Express, which can generate and refine designs from simple prompts. A future assistant for Adobe Firefly was also mentioned, with the ambition to circulate ideas and creations fluidly between several applications. The integration with ChatGPT therefore appears to be a logical extension of this strategy, seeking users where they already are, rather than forcing them to change environment.
Also note that Photoshop, Adobe Express and Acrobat for ChatGPT are available for freestarting today, on desktop, web and iOS. Android is already compatible with Adobe Express, while Photoshop and Acrobat will arrive soon. Adobe also specifies that it remains possible to switch to native applications to find all the advanced functionalities.
Behind this free service, we obviously see an ecosystem logic, introducing Adobe tools to a new generation of users, with the hope that they will then take the step towards the full versions. Still, for the general public, this integration marks a turning point since graphic creation becomes, for the first time, truly accessible through simple conversation.
