A NEW chicken restaurant is making a name for itself across America, and it’s rivaling the big brands.

Chicken Salad Chick is steadily growing across Texas, with its 40th site in Temple opening soon.

The local community has been invited to celebrate the opening of the 1724 Scott Boulevard branch on June 4.

The first guest in line will win free chicken salad every week for a year, and the following 99 guests will have the same treat but on a monthly basis.

The brand is offering other prizes from June 4 to June 7, including tote bags, coolers, and collectible cups.

Austin Young, owner of the Temple franchise, opened his first Chicken Salad Chick in Waco in 2020.

He said: “We love Chicken Salad Chick and are so fortunate to have so many positive interactions with our guests.

“Our Waco location has been a success within the local community, and we frequently serve many guests who visit from Temple asking for a location closer to them.

“We feel so welcome in the Temple community and are excited to hit the ground running with our new opening.”

Chicken Salad Chick is famous for its made-from-scratch chicken salad flavours, gourmet soups, sandwiches, and desserts.

“We’re very proud to see Chicken Salad Chick continue to grow in Texas, especially now with the opening of our first location in Temple,” said Scott Deviney, president and CEO of Chicken Salad Chick.

“Austin and his team are great leaders with proven experience, and his passion for the brand and the guests we serve every day will be sure to represent us well in this new market.

“We have no doubt Chicken Salad Chick will become a staple in the hearts of our guests in Temple.”

Chicken Salad Chick is one of the many new fast food restaurants looking to rival the big hitters like KFC, McDonalds and Subway.

Church’s Texas Chicken is so popular that it’s “setting its sights” on the UK.

Church’s currently has 1,400 restaurants across 22 countries, including Qatar and Iraq.

But bosses are now looking to expand further and are targeting 900 locations across the globe.

In a statement the group said the company would look at opening locations in the UK, France, Italy, and Spain

Roland Gonzalez, chief of Church’s Texas Chicken and Texas Chicken, said: “The European QSR market is evolving rapidly, driven by a growing demand for convenience and quick-service restaurant options.

“We see huge potential to bring the Texas Chicken experience to new guests across the continent, and this is just the beginning.”

American diners have raved about the brand’s fried chicken and ‘biscuits’ – a savoury bread served with meals.

Some have even gone as far as to say it taste better than KFC,

Taking to Reddit one impressed customer said: “I gotta say it was the best fast food fried chicken I’ve had in a long time.

“Better than Popeyes and KFC..the biscuits, sides, everything was just way better.”
