The Galaxy S21 series has been cut off after reaching the end of its supported life

The Galaxy S21 series will no longer get quarterly updates from Samsung.

Back in 2021, when it was first released, Samsung promised four years of major Android upgrades and five years of security updates but that time is up.

Samsung has updated its official security update web page, removing the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Ultra from all lists reports TechRadar.

The lack of updates means the models won’t get any new or improved software features.

But the lack of security updates could make them increasingly unsafe to use as scammers up their game.

Apps will also stop supporting the phones, although it could be be another few years before that’s a major issue.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy S phones come with a guarantee of seven years of Android and security updates, meaning last year’s Galaxy S25 phones should be fully secure until 2032.

However, if you have a Galaxy S21 FE, this phone is still on the list as receiving quarterly security updates.

Since it was released in January 2022, it should get updates until 2027 along with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series.

But, for users who are currently using the Galaxy S21, it might be a good idea to upgrade so that you are secure.

The device was one of the last ones to get a shorter support lifespan but Samsung has since moved to a seven-year plan which offers updates for longer.
