Proton launches a fully encrypted alternative to Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

The company Proton has announced the launch of an office suitewhich includes the Proton Meet communication tool (alternative to Teams and Zoom) designed as alternativa a Google Workplace y Microsoft Office. This suite, which has been called Proton Workspaceoffers different office automation and AI tools, and is characterized by being privacy-focused and completely encrypted.

Proton Workspace encompasses all the company’s tools and services in a single offer, with the aim of providing alternatives to those offered by large technology companies, focused on the user maintaining control of their data.

This suite will include, in addition to Meet, its Docs word processor, Sheets calculation time, as well as Lumo AI, and will be available with two plans.

Workspace Standard will offer Proton Mail, Calendar with scheduling feature, Proton Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet Proton Pass and Proton VPN. Its monthly cost will be 14.99 euros, and 12.99 euros per month for those who opt for an annual subscription plan.

As to Workspace Premiumwill add to everything that the Standard plan offers more Drive storage space, email data retention policies, the possibility of having a greater number of participants in Meet calls, and the Lumo AI assistant, which will not be available with the basic plan of the suite. It will cost 24.99 euros per month, a Price that will drop to 19.99 euros per month when subscribing to an annual plan.

The company’s customers who already have a Proton Business Suite plan will receive a free upgrade to Workspace Standard, to which they will add Proton Meet at no additional cost.

In addition to full encryption, Proton Workspace includes several advanced security tools to protect suite users, such as Proton Sentinel. Furthermore, due to its encryption, the company ensures that it cannot access the data of the suite’s users, nor use it for training AI models, thanks to its protection against leaks.
