TL;DR

  • Motorola has announced Qira, which unifies Motorola and Lenovo AI tools under one roof.
  • This means one interface and wake word across Moto and Lenovo products, along with shared memory and context.
  • Motorola also announced a concept AI-focused wearable and numerous Moto AI enhancements.

Motorola was quick to embrace AI functionality on its phones, but the company thinks it can create a more seamless experience across Lenovo and Motorola devices. Now, the company has used CES 2026 to announce Motorola Qira.

Motorola says Qira is an AI ecosystem that unifies Moto AI, Lenovo AI Now, Creator Zone, and Learning Zone. This means users have one interface and wake word across these platforms, along with shared memory and context across devices.

The tech giant says Qira “leverages” partnerships with Microsoft 365 and Copilot, Qualcomm and Intel, Perplexity, and Google. In any event, Moto says more info and capabilities will roll out later this year.

This could nevertheless be a neat solution for people with both Lenovo and Motorola devices. It could also be great for people upgrading to new Lenovo/Motorola products if the new devices retain the same context and knowledge base as your old products.

Motorola also announced the awkwardly named Project Maxwell: AI Perceptive Companion Proof of Concept, which is a concept product that harnesses Qira. This “AI-native wearable companion” uses its camera, microphones, and other sensors to deliver “real-time” insights about the world around you. The company gave the example of asking the companion’s assistant to listen to a presentation and then having it draft a LinkedIn post summarizing the event. Moto says learnings from this project will inform future Moto AI research initiatives.

Thankfully, the company also had a few real-world Moto AI improvements to share. This included adding Copilot Vision to its Next Move AI feature, support for six new languages, and the ability to back up and restore memories. The latter feature is particularly noteworthy, as it means you can back up info saved via Moto AI (e.g., screenshots, notes, photos) if you need to reset your device. I also hope this allows you to transfer your memories to a new Motorola handset.
