Connected watches are often similar: elegant, full of sensors, but with an Achilles heel that annoys everyone, autonomy. The Chinese manufacturer Huawei tries to break this vicious circle with his new Watch GT 6 Pro. Unveiled today Friday, September 19, 2025, here is a high -end watch that promises to hold more than a week, while taking care of its design and its sporting functions. An ambitious bet on a market dominated by Apple and Samsung.
A refined design, cut to last
The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro adopts a unique 46 mm format, designed to offer both an assertive presence and real comfort (79 g with a fluoroelastomer bracelet). Its titanium housing associated with a sapphire glass clearly in the premium category. Water resistant (5 ATM) and in accordance with the IP68 standard, it is not afraid of the rain or swimming, whether at sea or at the pool.
The 1.47 inch AMOLED screen (466 × 466 px) is bright (3,000 nits), net and pleasant to the eye. The colors are deep, the blacks perfect and the readability remains optimal even in direct sunlight. On the comfort side, the watch is necessarily a little imposing for fine wrists, but Huawei managed to limit the thickness to 11 mm to keep a good balance. On the side, nothing superfluous: a rotary crown associated with a button.
Impressive autonomy and controlled recharge
This is the strong point of this model: its 867 mAh battery promises up to 12 days of autonomy in typical use and around 7-8 days in intensive use (40 hours in sport mode). With economics mode, you can even reach three weeks (21 days) without recharge. It is simply one of the best current performance in the category of high -end connected watches. And in real life? We have indeed been able to see the longevity allowed by the battery. We were able to spend almost a week without having to recharge it while practicing a daily sports activity. A completely tour de force in the strings of the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro and which is very appreciable.
What is more, wireless recharge is fast: it takes about 65 minutes to go from 0 to 100 %. Practical for sportsmen and pressed users, especially as a few minutes are enough to recover a day of autonomy.
Advanced sports functions but …
The Watch GT 6 Pro is not content to follow your steps. It incorporates more than 100 sporting modes, from running to swimming, including cycling, golf, triathlon, skiing or diving. Operating with a bi-band GPS, we were however a little disappointed by the precision of the measure. On several running outings in places where the watch had not yet detected satellite, synchronization takes a little time. And if we leave to run before the pairing took place, the measures are then in the cabbage. On a 5 km outing with the Watch GT 6 PRO to a wrist and a sports watch on the other (Suunto Race 2), the Watch GT 6 Pro accused a delay of nearly 500 meters on arrival … Ditto, we have noticed a countertop of PAS which seems particularly generous compared to other connected watches. So you have to have this in mind.
Note, however, a notable novelty: the watch can measure power in cycling (FTP, Functional Threshold Power) directly from the wrist. A unique function and which will undoubtedly be much appreciated by athletes who want to optimize their training (outdoors only, the option is not available on a home trainer). The data is detailed and integrate into the Huawei Health ecosystem for particularly rich follow -up. Still for cyclists, the watch now automatically detects when you start a bicycle activity.
Complete and relevant health monitoring
Beyond sport, the GT 6 Pro is positioned as a real health ally. It incorporates a TRUSEEN 5.5+ heart rate sensor, the measurement of oxygen saturation (SPO₂), monitoring of stress, skin temperature, and even an ECG (electrocardiogram).
Sleep monitoring, already recognized by Huawei, still gains in precision. The watch distinguishes cycles, detects micro-acknowledgments and offers personalized advice to improve its recovery. According to our tests, the data is reliable and the information delivered instructive to have a good global vision of your health. A good point.
Software and ecosystem: solid but closed
The Watch GT 6 Pro runs under Harmonyos 4.2. The interface is fluid, intuitive and well thought out, with many watchfes available. It manages notifications, makes it possible to quickly respond to messages and make calls via the integrated microphone and speaker.
Only downside: the application ecosystem remains limited compared to Wear OS for Android or the Apple Watch. There are essential functions, but few actually useful third -party apps. Huawei compensates by gradually enriching his own universe, but this can slow down certain users.
Price and availability
The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is available today at a price of € 379.99.
