Remember Subway Surfers? It’s finally getting a sequel
SHARE

SYBO Games, the studio behind the original Subway Surfers, has confirmed the release of Subway Surfers City on February 26 for both Android and iOS.

The sequel builds on the runaway success of the 2012 classic, which has amassed more than 4.5 billion downloads worldwide.

Players will now dash through a sprawling metropolis divided into four districts: The Docks, Southline, Sunrise Blvd, and Delorean Park. Each season introduces new neighbourhoods, characters, outfits, and hoverboards, keeping the experience fresh for long-time fans.

Gameplay upgrades

The sequel retains the fast-paced endless runner formula but adds three new modes:

  • Classic Endless – the familiar chase fans know and love.
  • City Tour – explore themed districts with unique challenges.
  • Events – limited-time competitions with rewards.

SYBO has also promised handcrafted challenges, seasonal cosmetics, and upgraded visuals that bring more energy to every run.

Subway Surfers has remained culturally relevant for over a decade, appearing in TikTok trends and social media memes. The sequel represents SYBO’s attempt to modernise the franchise while keeping its nostalgic charm intact.
