Review: ESR’s new 3-in-1 MagSafe stand delivers reliable 25W Qi2.2 charging for iPhone – 9to5Mac
SHARE

Last year, Apple opened up its MagSafe standard to the Wireless Power Consortium, allowing third party companies to officially utilize MagSafe – at up to 15W. Earlier this year, the standard expanded with Qi2.2, making 25W MagSafe charging available to third party manufacturers. Many manufacturers have come to market with fantastic 25W Qi2.2 chargers, and this ESR model is one of them.

First and foremost, this charger is a 3-in-1, so you can charge your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all on one convenient charger. I’ve been using it as my primary desk charger, and it’s great. Other 3-in-1 chargers tend to offer a design where the Apple Watch and iPhone are side by side, which is fine I suppose. It just takes up more space.

With the ESR offering, the Apple Watch charger is behind the MagSafe ring, making it pretty low profile. You can also separate the Apple Watch charger if you’d like to, that way you can plug it into a MacBook or such for a simple charge.

Another great detail is the fact that the ESR 3-in-1 includes a 50W charging brick and USB-C cable in the box – which isn’t always the case. Everything you need simply comes with the product.

Wrap up

I’d say the best thing about this charging is the built in cooling, which ESR calls CryoBoost. To reach peak 25W speeds while wireless charging, your phone can easily get too hot. However, this charger combats that with its built in fan.

Overall, if you’re in the market for great MagSafe chargers for your iPhone, this ESR 3-in-1 is a nice option to add to your desk or nightstand for quick 25W charging. It’s all inclusive, fast, and works like a charm.

An iPhone 16 or iPhone 17 model is required to take advantage of Qi2.2.

You can pick up the ESR 25W CryoBoost 3-in-1 for $99.99 on Amazon currently. It comes in black and white, though the white variant is currently more expensive.
