Asylon Inc., a provider of robotic perimeter security, today announced it raised $26 million in early-stage funding led by global software investor Insight Partners.
Veteran Ventures Capital, Allegion Ventures and the GO PA Fund also participated in the company’s Series B funding round.
Asylon is best known for its robotic guard dogs, built by modifying the Boston Dynamics Inc. Spot robot. DroneDog units are used for autonomous or remotely teleoperated ground patrols. They can be equipped with thermal and night vision cameras, as well as advanced sensors, enabling them to detect chemical leaks or hazardous substances — tasks typically performed by trained dogs.
The company deployed its robot dogs in a gas-sniffing capacity at the 2024 annual American automobile race, the Indianapolis 500, in collaboration with local municipal police.
The company’s robotic dogs can be accompanied by autonomous aerial security drones capable of covering equally large areas from the skies, called Guardian. The new system, released in late 2024, upgrades the company’s drone sentry system, DroneCore.
“Security is being redefined,” said Damon Henry, chief executive of Asylon. “Asylon is creating a future where intelligent security is the norm — not the exception.”
The company’s robot dogs and drones are orchestrated and controlled by a centralized platform that combines automated security and human oversight. All of the robotics use advanced artificial intelligence to classify and understand their surroundings and report on potential threats or issues if discovered, including anomalies on patrol routes. Both the drones and robotic dogs have their own landing pads and “dog houses,” where they can autonomously swap batteries without any human interaction required.
The robotic security market has experienced considerable growth, with an estimated market size of $16.5 billion in 2025, an increase from $14.5 billion in 2024, according to the market research firm Fortune Business Insights. The market is expected to reach an estimated $46.9 billion by 2032, led by security threats, increasing investments in AI and machine learning, and government investments in smart city projects, creating growth opportunities.
The company recently boasted it completed over 250,000 robotic security missions across commercial and critical infrastructure sites nationwide. Additionally, its DroneDog has patrolled more than 150,000 miles in real-world operational environments.
“We believe Asylon is the next dimension of physical security,” said Mike Hayes, managing director at Insight Partners. “Its full-stack, tech-enabled approach that integrates robotics, AI, and mission execution positions Asylon to lead in a market demanding automation and reliability.”
The company said the new funding will be used to build up its already existing engineering, operations and go-to-market teams and accelerate product development of its robotic platforms. With that as a foundation, Asylon will deepen partnerships with defense, logistics and critical infrastructure as the demand for automated security systems grows.
