(From San Francisco) Salesforce has presented its Agentforce 360 Platform solution at DreamForce 2025, which turns any organization into an “agent company”, where humans and AI agents collaborate in the same conversational environment. At the center of this transformation is Slack, which is positioned as the agentic operating system of the modern company, a space where Conversations are the meeting point between people, data and artificial intelligence.
Slack is a cloud communication platform originally developed by Slack Technologies and acquired by Salesforce in 2020. It was born as an internal tool to organize work in a video game development team, which evolved into a powerful collaborative space for companies and organizations. The name “Slack” comes from the English acronym “Searchable Log of All Conversation and Knowledge”, reflecting its essence as a centralized registry of knowledge and business conversation. Since its public launch in 2013, Slack has maintained a culture of constant innovation, integrating protocols such as IRC and XMPP, and growing through strategic acquisitions and partnerships that enhance the product ecosystem. Slack’s history is marked by relevant milestones such as its IPO in 2019, the integration of tools such as Rimeto for profile management, and its acquisition by Salesforce for almost $28 billion. Today, Slack is a reference in collaborative platforms for teams and companies from all over the world.
Main features
The platform extends its usefulness through Integrations with more than 2,600 services, from productivity tools like Google Drive, Trello, and Dropbox, to specialized apps like Salesforce and Zendesk. Personalization is extended with Slackbots, configurable chatbots that automate alerts, responses, and reminders. The system allows you to create automated workflows, optimizing internal processes with its open API.
During these years, Slack has introduced advanced features such as “Huddles”, allowing virtual voice and video meetings, and collaborations with giants such as Workday and OpenAI to integrate human management resources and AI technologies. Its experience is available on mobile and desktop devices, adapting to Android, iOS, Mac, Windows, Linux and even Apple Watch. With different plans, from the free model to enterprise options, Slack facilitates collaboration and productivity, adapting to organizations of any size.
News: Conversational CRM and integrated flows
What changes with this new version? Now the core Salesforce apps —Agentforce Sales, IT Service, HR Service, and Tableau Next—integrate directly into Slack. This merges structured CRM data with unstructured conversational data that already exists on the platform, offering a unified view of the customer and allowing static information to be converted into dynamic experiences. The teams can collaborate, access data and take action without leaving the conversation.
- Agentforce Sales Slack unifies people, data, and workflows to drive fast, informed decisions.
- Agentforce IT Service Slack turns technical support into a seamless process, using AI agents to resolve routine issues and coordinate complex incidents in real time.
- Agentforce HR Service Slack simplifies the management of human resources tasks – vacation requests, expenses or employee onboarding – through natural conversations, connected to HCM and HRIS systems.
- Agentforce Tableau Slack introduces live interactive dashboards and “agent” analytics within conversations, facilitating immediate decision-making.
- Agentforce Channel Expert delivers instant insight into any Slack channel, answering frequently asked questions and freeing up human experts’ time.
With these integrations, Salesforce and Slack are reinventing the concept of CRMallowing records, dashboards and reports to become living conversations where teams and agents collaborate side by side.

Personalized AI and contextual productivity
To thrive in today’s business environment, every employee needs personalized AI integrated into their workflow. Slack introduces new capabilities that redefine individual productivity, as a Completely renewed Slackbotwhich acts as a personal AI companion capable of performing complex conversational reasoning tasks and Enterprise Search, which uses natural language to find information throughout the company and transform it into concrete actions.
The new Slackbot understands each user’s context by analyzing conversations, files, and work patterns. Provide the right information at the right time, learn from habits, and offer proactive support. It can summarize threads, analyze documents, compose updates and organize projects, functioning as an assistant that really knows its user.
For its part, Enterprise Search unifies the knowledge of the entire organization, eliminating information silos and allowing you to quickly find files, messages and data in integrated systems. Slack will add native connectors for Gmail, Outlook, Dropbox and Notion, plus a custom API to integrate internal systems. Thus, companies will be able to access all their corporate knowledge from a single search bar.

Open ecosystem of real-time agents and APIs
Slack relies on an open and flexible architecture to allow third parties to develop and run agents within its environment. The new tools include:
- Real-Time Search (RTS) API, which provides secure access to real-time conversational data.
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which allows developers to connect their AI models to Slack context.
Thanks to this system, Companies like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Perplexity, Writer, Dropbox, Notion, Cognition Labs, Vercel and Cursor are already creating custom agents that operate directly on Slack. These agents are not simple complements: they are integrated as digital coworkers, capable of understanding the context, responding accurately and activating tasks from the conversation.
According to Denise Dresser, CEO of Slack, “Every company is wondering where its agents will live, how they will get context, and how they will be useful. Slack is the answer: it offers a unified, trusted home for enterprise AI”.

Revolution in productivity
The central objective of these innovations is multiply employee productivity and accelerate innovation. Slack estimates that teams using AI agents can triple revenue per employee by making faster decisions and reducing manual efforts.
Business leaders recognize the cultural change that this transformation entails. Philip Hess, CEO of Remarkable, says that “you start using Slack as a tool, and you end up running the company with it.” For Prasad Swaminathan, of the Adecco group, “It is not just about innovating, but about reinventing the company from its foundations with AI”.
Slack as a Salesforce conversational interface
For decades, Salesforce has been the engine of customer success, while Slack has been the space where daily work gets done. Now both platforms converge to offer a complete experience. Slack becomes Salesforce’s conversational interface, capable of transforming every dashboard, report or customer record into an active conversation in which you can act without changing applications.
With the power of Agentforce 360, this next stage of Slack redefines how organizations work: a simpler, faster, more connected environment governed by intelligent agents.

An agentic future
The new AI-powered tools are now available at different product levels:
- Slack Pro, Business+ y Enterprise+
- Agentforce Tableau and Slack
- Agentforce Channel Expert
- Enterprise Search and the Dropbox connector
- APIs RTS y MCP
The new Slackbot is in the pilot or beta phase (pilot in September 2025, launch January 2026). And they will arrive soon:
- Agentforce Sales and HR Service in November 2025
- IT Service in October 2025
- Gmail, Outlook and Notion connectors for Enterprise Search in January 2026
With these launches, Salesforce wants to position Slack as the nerve center where humans and agents collaborate with autonomy, precision and speed. More than just a business messaging application, Slack is positioned as the operational platform for organizational artificial intelligence, the space where information, context and action come together to unleash the true potential of each employee. As stated Marc Benioff during the Keynote that opened DreamForce 2025, «Slack is the new agentic operating system».
As companies, developers, and partners integrate their own agents into Slack, the platform evolves into an intelligent productivity ecosystem, where every conversation, data, or workflow generates tangible results. This Total integration between AI and human collaboration marks the beginning of a new business era: that of agentic work.
What is an interaction with the new Slack like?
This is an example that we were able to see during the media demo sessions within the DreamForce 2025 event that is taking place in San Francisco. The head of a work team that has used Slack to coordinate during the development of a project called Nova needs to prepare the launch of the product and define its positioning.

The project manager indicates that relevant conversations have taken place in the #devel-nova and #feat-nova channels and Slack begins collecting information from those sources.

And Slack begins to show the result of the task that has been requested, in a structured way and with great detail.

Slack ends up offering the user more details on the release plan they’ve prepared, but the project manager instead asks them to collect what users in the #feat-nova channel have said to create a 4-week pre-launch social media campaign based on real user feedback.

And then Slack displays the most relevant testimonials it has located.

Once the release plan is created, the project manager asks Slack to find a space in another team member’s agenda to review the entire plan.

And Slack offers you the available slots. The user chooses the one that best suits them and the appointment is confirmed in both agendas.

This serves to get an idea of the type of interactions and important time savings that incorporating such a tool into a company can have.
