Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra grabbed the attention early this year during its launch for several features, upgrades, cameras, and AI features. But who could think that it can even be used to save life during a war-like situation? We have all heard several reports of Apple Watch, iPhones, and AirPods saving the lives of people in emergencies with the help of their features. However, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra’s design is what has proved its life-saving capability!
According to a post shared on a Ukrainian tech forum, a soldier claims the phone shielded him from a potentially fatal piece of shrapnel during an attack. The soldier, who identified himself in a customer review on Samsung Ukraine’s website, shared that he was caught in shelling during active combat. A large piece of shrapnel struck his Galaxy S25 Ultra directly. The front glass shattered on impact, but the phone’s titanium frame absorbed the hit and stopped it from going any further.
He mentioned that the device was almost brand new, just three weeks old. “It literally became armor,” he wrote. Though the phone didn’t survive the impact, it might have stopped something far worse from happening.
Samsung Responded
After the story gained attention online, Samsung’s local team in Ukraine responded. They reached out to the soldier, thanking him for his service and trust in their product. In a follow-up, the company confirmed they would repair or replace the phone free of charge.
This isn’t the first time a Samsung phone has been credited with saving lives in conflict zones. In the past, similar reports have surfaced where older Samsung models reportedly stopped bullets during combat situations in Ukraine.
While the Galaxy S25 Ultra is known for its top-of-the-line specs and premium build quality, such stories show it’s not just a gadget but can be turned into a piece of personal protection.
