Samsung has introduced something new for its smart TV lineup – the world’s first Perplexity AI-powered TV app. If you’ve used Perplexity on your phone or laptop before, then know this app will let you access an AI bot on a Samsung TV too soon. As per the tech giant, the app is designed to give quick, conversational answers. Think of Perplexity as your AI-powered answer engine that can pull verified information in real time. On Samsung TVs, this means you can ask questions, look up movie details, plan a trip, or explore topics – all through natural voice or text conversations. It’s basically like having a curious, knowledgeable assistant right inside your TV. news Also Read: This AI Browser Might Replace Two Common Office Jobs, Says Perplexity CEO

Samsung X Perplexity Partnership

The app is part of Samsung’s Vision AI Companion platform, which the company introduced earlier this year. With Perplexity integrated into it, Samsung is planning to make the TV experience feel more interactive and helpful – not just for entertainment, but also for quick searches and everyday curiosity. news Also Read: Apple To Buy AI Startup Perplexity? Here Is All We Know

According to Samsung, the idea is to turn the television into something more than a screen – a smart assistant that blends search, discovery, and personalisation in one place. Perplexity, on the other hand, brings its trusted AI model and real-time knowledge base to make that experience seamless.

Samsung x Perplexity App: Availability And How To Use It

The Perplexity TV App can be accessed directly from the TV’s home screen or through the Vision AI Companion menu. You’ll need to agree to the app’s terms and enable microphone access to start using voice commands. If you’d rather type, you can use the on-screen or USB keyboard to enter queries instead.

And once it’s up and running, you can ask things like, “What’s a good sci-fi movie to watch tonight?” or “Who directed the latest Dune film?” – and get instant, verified answers.

The Perplexity TV App is now available on all 2025 Samsung TVs and will soon roll out to 2023 and 2024 models via a software update. As part of the launch, Samsung is also offering 12 months of free Perplexity Pro access – you just need to scan the QR code inside the app to claim it.
