Though September tends to be synonymous with Apple and the launch of its new iPhones, Samsung isn’t letting its fans go without an exciting announcement. Similar to last year, the Korean-based giant unveiled the all-new Galaxy Tab S11 series, alongside its latest addition to the Galaxy S25 lineup at its Unpacked event.

This time around, the Tab S11 series might finally give you enough reason to rethink your next iPad purchase and consider making the switch to Samsung.

Samsung reveals the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra

As announced on the Samsung Newsroom, the company has taken the wraps off its latest innovations, which include the Galaxy Tab S11 series. Powered by a 3nm processor, the new series consists of two devices: the standard Galaxy Tab S11 and the higher-tier Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

With the S11 Ultra packing the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, Samsung claims that NPU performance has improved by up to 33% compared to the previous generation, while CPU and GPU performance have improved by 24% and 27%, respectively.

Design-wise, the Galaxy Tab S11 series is Samsung’s “thinnest tablet design yet,” with the S11 Ultra model coming in at only 5.11mm and featuring 5.2mm bezels. Both the standard and Ultra models feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with up to a 120Hz refresh rate.

Samsung describes the set of devices as its “most intelligent and advanced tablet experience to date,” and it is the first Galaxy tablet to feature One UI 8. Of course, no launch in 2025 is complete without a few AI features integrated, and Samsung is leaving no stone unturned thanks to Galaxy AI. Some of the AI features you’ll find in the new S25 tabs include Gemini Live, Drawing Assist, and Writing Assist.

If you’re anything like me and often miss AI the most when you’re multitasking, yet don’t want to go out of your way to access it, Samsung has made sure Galaxy AI stays within reach. While multitasking, Galaxy AI will be available in a moveable and compact overlay, presented in a floating view. From its description alone, it sounds a bit like Apple’s Slide Over, except it’s focused on AI rather than just app multitasking.

With the Galaxy Tab S11 Series, Samsung is also clearly putting its users’ productivity front and center. Thanks to a more powerful Samsung DeX experience and the all-new Extended Mode, users can transform their tablet into a dual-screen setup with an external monitor.

You’ll now also be able to create up to four customized workspaces, each tailored to a specific task. This is perfect for those who like to keep the different activities they do on their tablet organized and easily accessible.

Available in two timeless colors, Gray and Silver, the Tab S11 series will launch starting September 4. The standard Galaxy Tab S11 starts at $799.99, while the premium tier starts at $1,199.99.
