Samsung is finally ready to launch its super-slim Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone, if the latest rumours are to be believed.
According to a new report, Samsung is set to hold a Galaxy Unpacked event on May 13, with the phone going on sale in Korea and China on May 23. A global release will follow on May 30, if the leaks are to be believed.
The Galaxy S25 Edge looks like it will be the brand’s thinnest phone ever at just 5.8mm, and like the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra, it’ll likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
We got our first glimpse of the phone at the Galaxy S25 series launch in January, with another look a month later at MWC 2025, but this release has been a long time coming.
Early leaks had suggested an April launch, but that never came to pass, and there was also talk of a delay.
The report goes on to say that the base model with 256GB of storage is likely to set you back around 1.5 million won (around $1,050/£800), although we’d expect it to cost a little more than that when it arrives in the US and the UK.
Thin phone, plenty of high-end specs
Rumours suggest the Edge will have a dual-camera setup with a 200MP main lens doing the heavy lifting. The display is said to be 6.6 inches, and it has also been suggested that there will be an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, plus a 3900 mAh battery.
However, as always, until Samsung confirms all the details for the phone, we’re still a little in the dark.

2025 is set to the yeat of the Very Thin Phone, as all rumours are pointing towards Apple following Samsung with the launch of a iPhone Air 17 at some point before the year is out. I can’t wait to get both phones – if they both exist – into my hands to see whether the thinness is worth any sacrifices.
