Siemens AG has agreed to acquire software maker Altair Engineering Inc. for $10 billion including debt, a deal that furthers the German engineering giant’s migration to higher-margin software-driven product lines.
Siemens will pay Altair investors $113 per share in its largest acquisition ever, according to a statementconfirming an earlier Bloomberg News report that the companies were nearing a deal. The transactionexpected to close in the second half of 2025, represents a 19% premium to Altair’s closing price on October 21, the last trading day before reports of a possible takeover.
