I’m not the world’s biggest Mac fan, and even I can’t quibble with the MacBook AIr M4’s place atop our list of the best laptops you can buy because it’s light, powerful and long-lasting.
Plus, it’s cheaper than ever right now thanks to Best Buy’s big Labor Day sale. For a limited time every MacBook Air M4 is $200 off, which means the 13-inch MacBook Air M4 is $799 at Best Buy—the lowest price I’ve ever seen on this killer laptop, and one of the best Labor Day laptop sales I’ve seen all week.
Personally I think I prefer the larger 15-inch models because I’m on the larger side and appreciate a larger screen on my laptops. Luckily for me, you can also get the 15-inch MacBook Air M4 for $999 at Best Buy, $200 off the usual $1,199 asking price.
Since these are entry-level MacBook Air M4 laptops there’s no meaningful power difference between the two sizes, though our lab testing reveals the 15-inch model lasts about half an hour longer than the 13-inch model in our battery rundown tests.
Still, you can pretty much pick whichever you like and rest assured you’re getting one of the best ultraportables on the planet.

We fell in love with the M4 model because Apple cut the price by $100 compared to prior models while improving speed and battery life, so now that it’s another $200 off the MacBook Air M4 is an incredible deal.
And while the speed, battery life and light weight of the Air are its most winning attributes, here at Tom’s Guide we also love the new Sky Blue color scheme that Apple rolled out for the M4 models.
That said, I have to admit I do hate how stingy Apple is when it comes to ports, as each MacBook Air M4 comes with just two Thunderbolt ports and a headphone jack. Admittedly that’s really all many of us these days, but if you want more options you can invest in an inexpensive USB dock to get as many different ports as you need.
But act fast if you want one of the best MacBooks ever made for the lowest price I’ve ever seen, because I’m confident this deal won’t last past Labor Day!
