Sophos, one of the leading companies in the world of cybersecurity, has just appointed Joe Levy as the new CEO of the company. Levy has been acting CEO since February 15. To play a key role in executing his strategy to shape the future of Sophos, Levy also appoints Jim Dildine new CFO of Sophos and member of its management team.
Levy has been innovating and leading the development of cybersecurity products, services and companies for almost 30 years. During his nine years at Sophos, Levy has driven Sophos’ transformation from a sole product provider to a global cybersecurity giant, including an incident response team and service. managed detection and response (MDR) that defends more than 21,000 companies worldwide.
Levy also created SophosAI and Sophos X-Ops, an operational threat intelligence unit that brings together more than 500 cross-departmental cybersecurity operators and threat intelligence experts. Sophos X-Ops shares real-time and historical attack data with all Sophos solutions, making them smarter and faster at defending customers from persistent cyberattacks. Throughout his career, which began in the mid-1990s as a cybersecurity professional and product and service innovator at a value-added reseller, Levy has gained deep experience working with the channel, including managed security vendors. (MSP).
As CEO, Levy plans to expand Sophos’ already strong customer base in the midmarket, which iIncludes almost 600,000 customers worldwide and generates more than $1.2 billion in annual revenue. As a leading provider of midmarket cybersecurity solutions, Sophos has a unique ability to further expand its business and that of its partners, helping companies that urgently need basic and extended defenses against opportunistic and targeted cyberattacks.
Levy’s leadership strategy includes the addition of Dildine as CFO to help Sophos achieve its business objectives and drive the company on its future growth trajectory. Dildine joins Sophos from cybersecurity software and services company Imperva, where he was CFO for more than four years. Prior to Imperva, Dildine was CFO of Symantec’s $2.5 billion enterprise security business for three years. Previously, Dildine also held key financial leadership roles for nearly nine years at Blue Coat Systems, where Levy also served as CTO.
