Ahead of tomorrow’s Apple event, leaks have surfaced for an Apple Watch SE 3.
The Apple Watch SE 3 will come three years after the launch of the Apple Watch SE 2, and is likely to retain the title of Apple’s most budget-friendly wearable.
According to MacRumours, the source claims the Apple Watch SE 3 will sport the same S10 chip as the current flagship Apple Watch Series 10.
It’s worth noting that the Awe Dropping event should also see the launch of the Apple Watch Series 11 and even the Apple Watch Ultra 3, with both presumed to run on an S11 chip instead.
Even so, considering the Apple Watch SE 2 runs on the 2022 S8 chip, the boost here should be undeniable.

Alongside the chip rumours, there were whispers that Apple was planning to move its Watch SE 3 away from its typical aluminum frame and opt for an all-plastic design instead, akin to the divisive iPhone 5c. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman believes this plan has been scrapped as the design team didn’t like the look, nor was it any cheaper to make.
Speaking of price, those who want an Apple Watch on a budget will be excited to learn that the SE 3’s pricing is thought to rival Samsung’s $199/£199 Galaxy Watch FE. As the current SE 2 starts at $249/£249, the thought of its successor starting at under £200 is certainly appealing.
What is still unclear is what premium flagships the Apple Watch SE 3 will borrow from its counterparts. Currently, while the Apple Watch 10 is fitted with an ECG, sleep apnea notifications, Blood Oxygen app and others, the cheaper Watch SE 2 misses out on these tools.
It would, of course, be nice to see some more premium health tracking features make their way to the affordable SE 3.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed nor even hinted at by Apple, so we’ll have to hang tight for tomorrow’s event to see how accurate this is.
