The EU Commission is currently discussing a new legal form: the EU Inc. The aim is to create an EU-wide, uniform set of rules to simplify start-ups and cross-border growth.
As a survey by the industry association Bitkom among 102 tech startups in Germany showed, the majority of them have a positive attitude towards the draft. 62 percent of those surveyed said they wanted to found their next startup as EU Inc. Only one in ten startups stated that the legal form was not an option for them.
Bitkom President Dr. Ralf Wintergerst as follows: “EU Inc. would greatly simplify setting up a business and facilitate growth outside national borders.” Due to the broad support for the plans, it is now important to implement them “quickly and uniformly across Europe.”
