Sony just dropped a bit of a surprise for PlayStation fans – there’s a new State of Play airing today, and it’s going to be a big one.
The special episode, titled State of Play Japan, will run for over 40 minutes and focus primarily on PS5 games made in Japan and across Asia, featuring everything from beloved franchises to distinct indie projects.
The show will be hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji, best known for roles like Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan.
According to Sony, the showcase will include fresh looks at anticipated titles, developer interviews, and a few extra surprises that go beyond the region’s lineup. It’s all set to stream today, November 11, at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 11pm CEST, or November 12 at 7am JST for viewers in Japan.
How to watch the PS5 State of Play
If you’re watching from abroad, the main PlayStation YouTube channel will feature the original Japanese audio with English subtitles, while the Japanese PlayStation channel will have the full Japanese-language version.
Sony also shared a quick note for creators and co-streamers: the broadcast might include licensed music or third-party content, so clips or VOD uploads could run into copyright issues. The company recommends muting or omitting those segments if you’re planning to post recaps or reaction videos afterwards.
There’s no word yet on which games will appear, but with over 40 minutes of reveals and updates focused on Japan’s thriving game scene, this State of Play could be one to wake up early for.
