The new conditions have reduced the impact of the EREs in Global Solutions, Innovación Digital and Telefónica SA. This has led to the company’s minimum number of departures being reduced to 4,525.
The process of requesting voluntary membership of the ERE will open on December 29 for the three companies mentioned, as well as for three other affected companies: Telefónica de España, Telefónica Móviles and Telefónica Soluciones.
It will be open until January 26 in the case of these last three, and for Global Solutions, Innovación Digital and Telefónica SA it will close on January 29. As for Movistar+, the deadline to sign up for the ERE will be open on January 7, and will close on February 6.
The number of departures from the operator’s three main companies will be distributed as follows: 2,952 people in Telefónica de España (almost 33% of the workforce), 720 in Telefónica Móviles (20%), 120 in Telefónica Soluciones (11%). In total, 3,765 casualties.
At Telefónica Global Solutions, 109 people (17%) will leave the company, 182 (18.3%) will leave Telefónica Innovación Digital and 294 (25.3%) will leave Telefónica SA. As for Movistar+, it will register 175 departures, 20.3% of the total squad.
The sum of all the layoffs implies that Telefónica will reduce its workforce in these seven subsidiaries by around 26%. At this time, the total number of workers in the seven companies is 17,248. It is 9% less than what Telefónica initially proposed.
Regarding compensation, the proposal contemplates income brackets of 68% of the regulatory salary until age 63 and 38% thereafter for those born between 1969 and 1971 (in Movistar+ those from 1971 do not fall into this bracket).
Those born from 1965 to 1968 will have 62% until the age of 63 and 34% from that moment on. Those born in 1964 and previous years will have 52% of the base salary until age 63, and 35% from then on.
To be able to voluntarily benefit from this ere, in the case of the subsidiaries Telefónica de España, Móviles y Soluciones; It is necessary to have a minimum of 15 years of seniority in the company. This period is reduced to 13 years in the case of Global Solutions, Innovación Digital and Telefónica SA.
In addition, departures will imply bonuses that will vary depending on seniority in the company, from 5,000 euros for those who have been there for less than 8 years in the event that it is necessary to carry out forced dismissals if the volunteers do not reach the agreed figures. 7,000 euros will be given for those who have been between 8 and 12 years, 9,000 euros for those who have been between 12 and 16 years, 12,000 euros for those between 16 and 20 years, 15,000 euros for those between 20 and 24 years; and 18,000 euros for those over 24 years old.
