On the hunt for your next watch on Paramount Plus, but don’t want to wade through all the new releases this month? Especially after Paramount+ added over 100 new movies in February alone, picking what to watch next can feel like a pop quiz you’re pretty sure it’d be literally impossible to fail. Yet somehow knowing that doesn’t make the decision less stressful.
To slash through that decision paralysis for us both, I’ve already combed through everything new on Paramount+ this month, and have narrowed down the best three new additions that actually deserve a spot on your watchlist. That includes one of the best movies ever made, an unsettling horror movie that haunts my dreams, and an action comedy the critics got wrong.
‘Old Guy’ (2025)

“Old Guy” is a low-budget action-comedy that got ripped a new one by critics last year, who declared it a complete waste of the talent involved (Christoph Waltz, Lucy Liu, Cooper Hoffman). Between its surprising success on streaming and 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s safe to say this is one movie the critics got wrong. The synopsis reads: “Stuck at a dead end but vying for the love of spunky club manager Anata, Aging contract killer Danny Dolinski is thrilled when The Company pulls him back in the field, but only to train Gen Z newcomer Wihlborg, a prodigy assassin with an attitude.”

‘The Beldham’ (2024)

I love a horror movie that hits you over the head with emotions, and given how many great things I heard about “Bring Her Back” last year, I’m surprised that one with such similar themes managed to slip under my radar for so long. “The Beldham” is another hauntingly surreal mother-daughter story. When struggling new mother Harper (Katie Parker) moves back into her family home, something feels…off. She becomes convinced something sinister is after her and her newborn. Her mother (Patricia Heaton) and live-in aide Bette (Emma Fitzpatrick) suspect the problem may be all in her head, and you’re never quite sure who to believe.

‘Cinema Paradiso’ (1988)
Giuseppe Tornatore’s “Cinema Paradiso” is one of the very best movies about movies of all time, so any self-proclaimed cinephiles out there will want to add it to the top of their watchlist. When director Salvatore Di Vita (Jacques Perrin) learns of a dear old friend’s death, he loses himself in memories from his childhood spent mesmerized by the silver screen. As he grows up, his icy friendship with the local theater’s projectionist, Alfredo (Philippe Noiret), thaws beneath a newfound passion for cinema, one that’s too big for his small hometown to contain — though it takes a friend to help him accept that.
