For the past week, the world of the video game industry has had its eyes glued to Rockstar Games and Take Two, with many gamers scared to see GTA 6 be launched in two stages: first digitally, on November 19, to avoid leaks. Then, in physics later, around December 2026, see 2027.
Take Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick put an end to all speculation, confirming that this hypothesis is not “not the plan” from Rockstar. During an interview with Variety, Strauss Zelnick was asked to react to this rumor. The answer is quite clear.
Zelnick also addressed online rumors circulating regarding the possibility that Rockstar might delay the release of physical copies of “GTA 6” until 2027, in order to avoid leaks of the game, which is scheduled for release on November 19. “That’s not the plan,” the Take-Two boss said.
Excerpt from the Variety article
It now remains to be seen whether Rockstar Games and Take Two Interactive have planned a solution to avoid leaks and the possible sale of physical copies of the game, before the official release day. Over the past few years, many games have fallen victim to these kinds of leaks. We can even mention the case of Starfield or even Assassin’s Creed Mirage who found themselves in the wild almost a month before their release.
Given the wait and the excitement around GTA 6it is a safe bet that some pretty crazy things can happen. Hopefully Rockstar and Take Two anticipate this.
