The German group Scout24 buys photocasa and habitaclia from the EQT fund

Scout24owner among others of the German real estate portal Inmoscout24, He has bought the Spanish platforms Fotocasa and Habaclia from the Swedish Fund EQT. These real estate platforms have, in a combined way, with 8 million monthly active users, and have listed around one million properties. The purchase indicates the intention of the German group Scout24 to expand its activity in the European real estate market, combining the offer and technology of both companies with their current content.

The group will pay around 153 million euros, in metallic and credit, for two companies that are expected to generate about 60 million euros of revenues and reach an EBITDA of about 11 million euros in 2025. The two will continue to independently operate with their current names, and their management team will continue in their position.

Fotocasa, founded in 1999, is based in Barcelona and operates throughout the Spanish territory. Among its services are the publication offer, online assessments, mortgage advisory services and the development of tools for real estate agents.

As for habitaclia, it was founded in 2001 and has its operations center in Mataró. Its radius of activity focuses mainly on the Costa del Mediterráneo regions, which are especially popular among third -party buyers.

Once the operation is closed, Scout24 will offer its services approximately 40,000 B2B customers, and will reach the 28 million unique visitors to their platforms in Germany, Austria and Spain. The transaction will allow the scalar group in terms of product and leadership in technology in the sector, in addition to opening the door to the real estate agents of Spain and Germany to their respective real estate markets.

The closure of the purchase is subject to obtaining the approvals of the corresponding regulatory agencies, and will not be made before the acquisition of ADEVINTA Spain by EQT, a processes that should conclude before the next six months.
