The great saga Toy Story born in 1995 produced four high-level episodes; and every time we say to ourselves that they can’t do the same thing to us again, the wizards from Pixar manage to amaze us. Many still thought that the 4th part of 2019 had sealed this universe once and for all, especially since the masterful flop of Buzz Lightyearin 2022 no longer gave much hope for the franchise.
Woody is back, with a few less hairs
But here it is, Toy Story 5 is definitely in the pipeline! And after a first trailer which made fans fear the worst, today’s new trailer helps explain some oddities… such as the return of Woody with his entire gang, even though he had been separated (voluntarily) at the end of the previous part.

Toys now face their greatest enemy: technology! Young Bonnie receives a Lilypad tablet as a gift, which hides very dark intentions behind her big eyes and her outward smile (she “ listen all the time “). Jessie has no other solution than to call on good old Woody, who has gone to save abandoned or lost toys, which in the process causes him to lose a few hairs.
Back on the track, Woody finds his comrades and Buzz. Together, they will have to face adversity again. And prove that toys aren’t cheesy, once again. The cast has been the same for 31 years (!), with Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz) and Joan Cusack (Jessie). Newbies appear like Conan O’Brien, Ernie Hudon and Greta Lee in the role of Lilypad.
The film is directed by Andrew Stanton, whose career at Pixar is impressive. He participated directly or indirectly in all the episodes of Toy Storyand he was at the helm of Wall-E, Finding Nemo et Finding Doryamong others.
