There’s never a shortage of weird tech debuting at CES every year. A new company called Tomorrow Doesn’t Matter, or TDM, announced a peculiar pair of headphones at the show earlier this month with a feature no one has tried before. The Neo headphones can be rolled up like a hedgehog which turns them into a compact Bluetooth speaker for those times when you want to share a real banger with those around you. They were expected to launch through a Kickstarter slated for this month, but TDM now says the crowdfunding campaign will officially open on February 10th, 2026.

Pricing for the Neo is set to be $249 when they eventually launch in July 2026, but those placing preorders by backing the Kickstarter can get the headphones discounted to $179.

Designed to make it easier to share music, the earcups on the Neo headphones each feature both inward and outward-facing 40mm drivers. In headphone mode only the inward-facing drivers are used for a private listening experience. When they’re rolled up, the Neo automatically switches to only using the outward-facing drivers for speaker mode, but there’s also a button for toggling between both modes manually.

The Verge’s John Higgins had the chance to go hands-on with the Neo during CES 2026. While the headphones were a bit heavy because of their batteries and extra hardware in each earcup, he also found that rolling them up to switch between modes was “easy and fast” and “a little bit of fun, too.”
