No news is good news.

It is said that the saying has its origin in a phrase by James I of England back in 1616. There are doubts, however, because the first time it was reflected on paper was in a book published in 1645 and it indicated that, in fact, its origin was Italian.

Of course, 410 years later, the phrase is more than valid.

Or if not, tell Tesla.

Your Cybertruck assembled a tremendous noise before even arriving. First it sounded like broken glass and then it echoed in the market… and then it gradually disappeared. Along the way we have seen news of all kinds.

It came at a price much higher than expected and, despite everything, the public seemed to go crazy for it. Then it lost steam and the debates arrived.

Is it capable of improving a Citroën C15?

The first reliability problems appeared. We wondered if it was really safe. There were those who lost (a lot) money with their purchase. And there were those who had to accumulate them in a parking lot next to their dealership, unable to sell it. In between, more reliability problems.

And when we thought everything had calmed down. Just when Tesla could breathe a little easier seeing that the Cybertruck hurricane is not devastating the market but, at least, it is not devastating it, a new problem arrives.

Yes, the company has had to recall its “indestructible” pick-up again. This time because the wheels could fall off.

On (?) wheels

Indeed, US agencies have once again forced Tesla to launch a recall of its Cybertruck. The problem, they point out in Wiredit is not minor: the wheels can suddenly fall off. Apparently, some cars have had a defect in the nuts and the grease used in this area. And the consequences are obvious.

For this reason, the electric pick-up faces its eleventh recall. It is not the first time that its owners have to go to the workshop because the car falls apart. And several owners questioned the glue used for different parts or panels. Consequently, the company had to stop the assembly line and review what was happening. Almost two years ago, the rear moldings also had to be checked for the same problem.

In the first year alone, Tesla had to call the owners of its cars up to five times. One of them because the accelerator trim could fall off while driving and cause complications. Then, it has had software problems, with the windshield wipers and the rear camera, to name a few examples.

And while Tesla has had to make calls and calls for review, the market has been turning its back on the all-terrain vehicle. Tesla had the opportunity to turn this car into a flagship, aspirational model with brand image. However, in his conviction that it could be profitable and that there was a business niche that no one was covering, he has hit a wall. The same wall that all electric pick-ups have crashed against.

This type of car has a great acceptance in the United States but those who really want it for work or as a means of transportation in an inhospitable place cannot rely on a completely electric vehicle at the moment. And its consumption by pulling another vehicle or dragging merchandise skyrockets. That’s a problem when you live in the middle of nowhere tens or hundreds of kilometers from the nearest town.

Still, the Tesla could have had a certain commercial outlet as an opulent object, as the treat that the potential client wants to indulge in. I could have had it calculating the demand well. And, above all, creating a car that would not fall apart.

You already know: no news is good news.
