If Halloween festivities have never been able to establish themselves in France as they can in the United States, France’s amusement parks are a special case. Even French people who do not participate in the October 31 celebrations take great pleasure in enjoying the characteristic atmosphere of these tourist destinations at this time of year. But which park should you choose to spend a day that is as scary as it is fun? To help you organize your stay, here is our selection of 5 parks with terrible festivities not to be missed

Parc Astérix

We no longer need to present the Fear on the Park season at Parc Astérix, which has become a must-see for the month of October for amusement park aficionados. The Gallic tourist destination has made horror its trademark during the autumn period. Between nightlife not recommended for young people and blood-curdling haunted houses, there is no better place than Parc Astérix for lovers of thrills and other thrills. This year, visitors can discover two new shows during the evenings in an area that is also new: the Camp des Lames d’Acier.

Park opening dates:

From October 4 to November 11. Late nights on certain dates only (see details in our dedicated article).

Entrance prices:

Between €49 and €57 for a day ticket. Access to nightlife is charged at a single rate of €51.

The Sea of Sand

For Halloween, the biggest parks aren’t the only ones pulling out all the stops. La Mer de Sable fully asserts its status as a family and regional park by offering a seasonal celebration accessible to all, both in terms of sensations and budget. Entertainment of all kinds (several shows, performers in the park’s paths) and revisited and re-themed attractions await visitors until November 2. The short waiting times, the humor of the shows and the good humor of the Épouvantable Mer de Sable teams will certainly make you want to repeat the experience at other times of the year.

Park opening dates:

From October 4 to November 2, park open 6 days a week during the All Saints’ Day school holidays. Detailed calendar can be found on the official website of the destination.

Entrance prices:

Disneyland Paris

If there’s another theme park-style Halloween expert, it’s Disneyland Paris. It must be said that the American giant has this in its DNA. Numerous shows, meetings with the characters… Visitors to Mickey Mouse’s magical kingdom are used to celebrations with great fanfare, but there is something new this year. Following the installation of projectors on Main Street for the Disney Tales of Magic show, the main path of the park is transformed at nightfall for a stunning result that even foreign Disney parks envy. Avoid spoiling yourself before you go!

Park opening dates:

Disneyland Paris is open 365 days a year. Please note that the Halloween period is not accessible for certain annual passports, remember to check the calendar for your Disneyland Pass directly from the destination’s website.

Entrance prices:

Ticket prices vary depending on the periods and attendance, these dynamic prices can be found directly from the Disneyland Paris online ticket office.

Nigloland

We leave the Paris region to celebrate Halloween in the calm of Aube (which is ultimately not so calm during the month of October). Nigloland is also one of those regional parks that goes above and beyond to provide memorable seasonal experiences. With its Nigloween, the tourist destination is adorned with impressive decoration and unleashes shows and monsters for a very different visit than at other times of the year. The more time passes, the more Nigloland surpasses itself, so much so that Nigloween 2025 was able to amaze us. This is yet another proof of the importance of small parks in the French tourist landscape.

Park opening dates:

From October 4 to November 11, open 7 days a week during the All Saints’ Day holidays. Detailed calendar can be found on the official website of the destination.

Entrance prices:

Nigloween tickets cost €45 per adult and €42 per child under 12 years old.

Walibi Rhône-Alpes

Still in the category of regional parks which continue to invest for the greatest pleasure of their visitors, we obviously find Walibi Rhône-Alpes. French people looking for thrills, but who don’t want to cross all of France to visit Asterix and Obelix, have their perfect destination. For its 2025 edition of WAAAlloween, the amusement park offers 5 haunted houses as well as shows, among other wanderings of horrific characters in its aisles. If you haven’t set foot in Walibi Park for several years, this fall visit will also be an opportunity to discover their latest ambitious attractions, such as the Mahuka coaster, inaugurated in 2024.

Park opening dates:

From October 4 to November 11, detailed calendar of opening days can be found on the destination’s official website.

Entrance prices:

Tickets dated WAAAlloween priced from €32. Prices vary depending on the date selected and the height of the visitor (large visitors from 130cm and over).

Special mentions

Since not everyone lives near these destinations, here are some parks in and around France that also offer seasonal celebrations that deserve our attention:

  • Spirou Park in Provence: families in the south of France will be able to discover special decorations as well as their favorite comic book characters in seasonal paraphernalia.
  • Europa-Park in Germany: Decorations and special activities are offered on site, while a horror event for experienced spectators, called Traumatica, is also organized in the town of Rust where the park is located.
  • Port Aventura in Spain: The park located in Catalonia offers a number of seasonal activities for visitors seeking thrills, from horrific experiences to impressive rides.
