While companies like Apple are unlikely to unveil a single phone in the next five months or so, Motorola is expected to release at least six interesting Android handsets soon… and that’s not even counting potential surprise additions to the budget-friendly Moto G line in select European or Asian markets.

Got wood?

Last year’s Edge 60 Pro was released in Pantone Dazzling Blue, Pantone Shadow, Pantone Sparkling Grape, and Pantone Walnut colorways, and while the Pantone name of the Edge 70 Pro’s wooden model is currently unknown, its design is likely to resemble the latter of its predecessor’s four aforementioned flavors.
In addition to that, the Edge 70 Pro is also expected to come in a Pantone Titan (aka blue) hue with a “nylon-like textured back” and a Pantone Zinfandel (which is apparently a fancy name for maroon) with a matte red brushed finish. Add a quad-curved display to the cosmetic equation, and it’s hard to think of another brand that sells or is preparing to sell a more eye-catching budget 5G phone this year.

Are you ready to welcome the prettiest new foldable of 2026?

I know what you’re going to say, and no, it’s not too early to get that excited about the Razr 70 Ultra, aka Razr Ultra (2026). Not after those recently leaked high-quality renders and today’s Pantone Orient Blue and Pantone Cocoa news.

I honestly can’t decide which of the two rumored color options sounds cooler, with the Orient Blue model purportedly rocking a vegan leather finish with a “diamond stitch pattern” and the Cocoa flavor sharing a wooden texture with one of the Edge 70 Pro’s aforementioned versions.

What I can say for sure is that this ultra-high-end flip phone will not look boring by any measure of the word, most likely eclipsing Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 in terms of sheer magnetism… despite a significantly thicker profile. And something tells me Motorola has a third and perhaps even fourth snazzy paint job in the pipeline for its most advanced 2026 clamshell as well.

What else do we know about the Edge 70 Pro and Razr 70 Ultra?

Unfortunately, not much as far as the former non-foldable device is concerned. The latter handset, on the other hand, is an open book in many ways, reportedly measuring 171.3 x 74.1 x 7.8mm in its unfolded state and 88 x 74.1 x 15.8mm in folded form.

That’s ever so slightly shorter and wider but also considerably thicker than the Razr 60 Ultra, aka Razr Ultra (2025), which makes me think the already impressive 4,700mAh battery capacity could go even higher, possibly breaking the 5,000mAh barrier and further humiliating the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in that department.

The rest of the specs are a little harder to guess, although as usual, there’s a strong possibility very few things will change from the Razr 60 Ultra, especially if Motorola wants to keep the Razr 70 Ultra‘s pricing in check.

The make-or-break detail is not yet known

Yes, I believe the Edge 70 Pro and Razr 70 Ultra‘s chances of achieving box-office hit status around the world hinge almost entirely on their price points and how those will differ from their predecessors.

The Edge 60 Pro, for instance, normally costs €699 in Europe with 512GB internal storage space and 12GB RAM, and while the Edge 70 Pro’s key specs are kept under wraps, I think any increase over that mark would completely ruin the new phone’s chances of connecting with a wide audience on the old continent.

Unlike the Edge 70 Pro, the Razr 70 Ultra is expected to be released in the US in addition to various European territories under the simpler Razr Ultra (2026) name, and hopefully, its starting price stateside won’t be higher than $1,299.99. The problem is the first-gen Razr Ultra has been discounted so deeply and so frequently over the last few months that I’m not sure anyone remembers that was its original price, so at least at first, its sequel is likely to seem vastly overpriced.
