The streaming war adds a new chapter. Disney Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery have just announced a package that includes Disney+, Hulu y Max. We are facing a subscription offer that brings together the proposals of two industry giants that is presented as an ambitious movement that can alert the competition.
The statement indicates that this new proposal will be available starting this summer in the United States. It can be contracted on any of the three websites mentioned and will have options with and without ads. It should be noted that there is no information on rates, and there is also no mention of whether this subscription will reach other regions in the future.
Disney Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery join forces
Jean-Briac Perrette, CEO of Global Streaming and Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, describes the new package as “the largest collection of entertainment at the best streaming value.” Certainly, users will find a huge catalog with some of the most recognized franchises of the moment plus live television.
Let us remember that Max is the product of the merger of HBO Max and Discovery+, a service that brings together content from HBO, CNN, Cartoon Network, DC Universe and more. Disney+, for its part, is the home of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Hulu, among others. This is a fairly ambitious option.
Perrette points out that this alternative seeks to promote subscriber growth, something that Netflix is achieving with the plus of great economic benefits. Disney’s latest financial results indicate that the company is losing more and more money, suggesting that it is getting closer to becoming profitable.
As we say, there is still no official information about how much this combined package will cost. We can assume that it will have a lower Price than paying for each service separately. The companies invite us to stay tuned because “in the coming months” they will share more information.
