TL;DR: The Keychron K8 is a customizable wireless mechanical RGB keyboard on sale now for $80 (reg. $109.99).

A regular laptop keyboard can feel cramped and shallow if you type or game for hours. The Keychron K8 QMK Wireless Mechanical Keyboard gives you a compact layout, mechanical switches, and flexible connections so you can set it up the way you like, and it’s on sale for $79.99 (reg. $109.99).

The K8 QMK is a tenkeyless 80 percent keyboard with 87 keys and Keychron Super mechanical banana switches. Every switch socket is hot swappable, so you can drop in most 3-pin or 5-pin MX-style switches like Cherry, Gateron, Kailh, or Panda, without soldering. The keycaps are double-shot PBT with shine-through legends, which helps the RGB lighting stay clear and makes the caps more resistant to wear.

You can connect over Bluetooth 5.2 to up to three devices or plug in with a USB-C cable. Wired mode runs at a 1000 Hz polling rate, while wireless runs at 90 Hz. The keyboard works with macOS, Windows, and Linux, and includes 12 multimedia keys plus a Mac-style layout that still works properly on Windows.

22 different RGB presets let you change color, brightness, and effect speed, and the 4000 mAh battery can last around 190 hours with the backlight off or about 100 hours at the lowest brightness.

In the box, you get the fully assembled keyboard, a Type-A to Type-C cable, and a combined switch and keycap puller.
