X, formerly Twitter, is down after more than 5,000 reports of issues with the social media site.
Most of those problems appear to be with the app.
Some 63 per cent of those reporting a problem said they had issues with the app, while 26 per cent reported a problem with the website.
Just 11 per cent said they were having difficulties with the feed, according to Downdetector.
The issue appears to be mainly affecting some of the UK’s main cities, with London the worst affected, along with Birmingham and Manchester.
North of the border, in Scotland, Glasgow has been badly affected while across the Irish Sea, Belfast has also been seeing problems.

Twitter ‘down’ with thousands of users unable to load X website
Issues seem to have appeared at around 3.20pm today.
By 3.50pm though 5,028 reports had been made by users experiencing problems.
X also suffered problems in September this year when the website suddenly stopped working.
More than 10,000 reports of an outage were logged, with most of the issues appearing to hit the online website.
The spike started around 10.20pm, according to Downdetector.
One user complained: “Unable to log in to X. When I try to log in, I receive the following error message: Oops, something went wrong. Please try again later.”
Another wrote: “Keep getting suspicious log in message when I try to log in and blocks me logging in, what is going on.”
“Elon, please fix your app. I keep seeing the same notifications pop up twice. That needs to be fixed,” a third fumed.
This is just the latest in a string of outages that have plagued the Elon Musk-owned website.
In August, more than 15,000 people reported a blackout, more than the 11,000 who reported issues in May.
Musk has added new features since he paid out an eyewatering $44billion to acquire Twitter in October 2022.
He changed the name to X, which is also the nickname he has for his son, whom he shares with singer Grimes.
In October, Musk banned all bold and italicized fonts as he said it was “being abused for engagement farming.”
One month before that, he added a feature to edit DMs on the app after they’ve already been sent.

And before this, he outraged users by “hiding” users’ likes in an effort to increase privacy.
Another outage was reported in March, and that time a massive 58,000 users said there were issues with the platform.
