Many, but by no means all, developers are convinced to create LLM-based code – whether it’s vibe coding, spec development, agentic engineering or another “flavor”. If you are also a skeptic, you probably don’t see the point of investing money in appropriate AI tools for developers.
Fortunately, there are various free – or at least inexpensive – ways to familiarize yourself with Vibe coding and general AI tools for software development. You should not use the solutions listed in this article for anything other than testing purposes. Because if you pay nothing (or only a little), you cannot expect any data protection.
Also keep in mind that AI tools are evolving rapidly – or can collapse or falter if the payload becomes too large. These AI tools are available to developers free of charge – and enable more than just connection tests:
