If you’ve been meaning to check out Apple’s new psychological crime drama “Smoke“, you can now sample the show’s intense opening scene, along with Thom Yorke’s moody theme song for the opening credits. Watch it below.
As it has done with past series, Apple has uploaded the full opening scene for Smoke, giving potential viewers a peek at what to expect from its new crime drama show.
Inspired by the podcast Firebug and created by Black Bird showrunner Dennis Lehane, Smoke stars Taron Egerton (Tetris, Rocketman) as a haunted arson investigator working with detective Michelle Calderone, played by Jurnee Smollett (The Order, Lovecraft Country), to chase down a couple of serial arsonists across the Pacific Northwest.
The show also stars Greg Kinnear (As Good As It Gets), John Leguizamo (The Menu), and Ashley Gudsen (X-Men: Dark Phoenix).
A true story-turned-podcast-turned-TV show
Here’s how Apple describes the new series:
“Inspired by true events, ‘Smoke’ follows an arson investigator who begrudgingly teams up with a police detective as their race to stop two arsonists ignites a twisted game of secrets and suspicions.”
Smoke premiered last week on Apple TV+ with a two-episode debut. New episodes will drop every Friday through August 15.
