We’re on day three of Prime Day (should it be Prime Week at this point?), and after days of deals tracking on our liveblog and various Prime Day stories, it’s no surprise that we too here at WIRED have been shopping the sales. We know a good one when we see one, after all. If it’s a sale so good even our team can’t resist it, you know you should probably check it out too.

Here’s everything our team has shopped so far during Prime Day. Looking for more Prime Day deals? Don’t miss our guide to the Absolute Best Prime Day Deals and our Prime Day liveblog, plus our various guides to deals on Kindles, beauty tools, Dysons, mattresses, and so much more.

Kindle Scribe (2024)

My Kindle Scribe arrived last night, and I couldn’t wait to set it up before bed. Honestly, it’s taking all my willpower not to grab it from my nightstand right now and dive into a good book. But alas, I’m on the clock. I’ve been debating whether to get a Kindle for a couple of years because I love my paperbacks, but I finally decided to go for it when fellow reviewer Nena Farrell sold me on it. Reading in bed, before bed, is difficult for me because I like to highlight and annotate my books, but I can’t doze off with all my stationery sprawled on top of me.

It’s super sleek and slim, and I adore the premium pen that comes with a soft-tipped eraser. It’s a bit larger than I expected, but in a good way. The front-lit display can really light up a dark room, but I’m leaning toward the warmer settings. I immediately noticed that it doesn’t have color features, which was a bummer, but I think I’ll get used to it. Some Amazon deals include a fabric cover, and if you’re thinking about getting a Kindle, definitely check those out because I need a cover ASAP. —Boutayna Chokrane

Cast Iron Camp Pie Cooker

I’ve probably seen one of these at every garage sale I’ve been to in the past 10 years, passing them up because I didn’t want to have to store them. But here I am, paying retail price for not just one pie iron, but two! My family camps every year here on the West Coast (or tries to, anyway), and for the past few years, burn bans have precluded us from cooking anything fun. I’m probably conjuring a burn ban this year just by buying these, but I consider it an investment in my fantasy of making stuffed French toast and pizza pockets, even if that ends up being next year. (If I’m not fed up with storing them before then.) —Kat Merck

The Cool Kid Tumbler

Photograph: Amazon

WIRED reviewer Louryn Strampe bought an Owala 40-ounce reusable tumbler on the first day of Prime Day, and it’s already arrived to keep her hydrated until Prime Day (really, Prime Week) finishes its wild run. So far she really likes the handle—she says it’s got a perfect groove for her thumb to rest in—and that the slimmer bottom can fit into cupholders when you hop into the car. You can remove the straw and still be able to drink from it, and that straw-free style is leakproof, too. Extra bonus: there’s removable rubber seals to make it super easy to clean, which is huge. I had the same tumbler and loved it, but currently can’t find it … which means this is a clear sign for me to also purchase one.

Butterluxe Workout Gear

Have you heard of color analysis? It’s a concept where each person has a specific season of colors that suit them best. It’s been catching attention on TikTok, particularly from me obsessively searching how I can figure out my season. On the recommendation of other WIRED gals, I asked ChatGPT, which told me I’m a cool summer and that I can no longer wear orange, black, and gold. A different quiz has since told me I might be a cool winter instead and didn’t ban black, but now I fear my all-black outfits at dance class aren’t what I should wear. (Don’t get me started on how many gold earrings I own.)

My solution? Dark blue outfits, specifically a new set from CRZ Yoga. A few other WIRED staffers praised the brand’s workout gear, and I liked that I could find a nice shade of dark, ashy blue that should match whatever one of these seasons I’m in and won’t show sweat or bloat as easily as a lighter-colored set. I scored both a set of shorts and a workout bra in the Butterluxe fabric, and I’m excited to get it in the mail to see if it’s as soft as I hope.

Books for the Kids

The Ramona Collection

WIRED reviewer Adrienne So used Prime Day to pick up the Ramona Collection for her son. The classic series is on a serious discount, and it’s the perfect book series to pick up when it’s a story about a rambunctious 8-year-old when you too have a rambunctious 8-year-old like Adrienne. Snag it on sale for a gift, or to add to the bookshelf of any kiddo room (or your own nostalgia bookshelf—now I’m checking if Amelia Bedelia is on sale on the pretense of reading it to my toddler, but I really want it for me!).

Cat Grooming Clippers Kit

Unfortunately, this grooming kit has been the only thing I’ve bought so far for Amazon Prime Day. As the pet tech writer here at WIRED, my cats are so spoiled. Like, if they were humans, they’d be bad people. (Oh wait, now that I’m writing this, I realize I’ve also bought a cat tent, treats, toys, and have been seriously eyeing this floor-to-ceiling cat tree.) But anywho, one of my aforementioned cats has super-beautiful, very floofy long hair, which unfortunately for both of us means that sometimes she gets poop stuck on the fur near her behind. I’ve been a negligent mother, letting her clean up her own mess; wiping her with wet cloths; or once, taking her for ill-fated dip in the kitchen sink. This most recent time, I realized I have to intervene and help her get rid of the stinkiness, so I bought this cordless grooming kit with varying sizes of blades. That way I can make sure I’m being safe while trimming her sensitive areas. She might be resentful of me, but at least she still won’t be a smelly cat anymore. —Molly Higgins

Washable Area Rug

Washable rugs. Yes, you can shampoo your rugs, and I do often, but when you’re potty training a puppy, sometimes you gotta throw the whole dang thing away into the washing machine. I bought this rug at the start of Prime Day and it’s already arrived and installed on my floor. My first impression is it’s super soft and has been easy to clean (as it should be!), and that it’s best to use with a lighter vacuum. —Julia Forbes

Adjustable Dumbbells Set

I have a vision for the extra-large landing at the base of my stairs: workout corner. This adorable workout mat I bought this week is the main inspiration for the space (which is on sale on its own site, but not on Amazon, funny enough), along with a massive secondhand mirror I’ll use to check my awful posture, but the big necessity of the space is on sale for Prime Day: adjustable weights. The set I got from LifePro goes up to 25 pounds on each dumbbell, but the single adjustable weights are also on sale if that’s more your style. I’m currently on a mission to raise the strength in my left arm to balance with the one on the right, and hoping these can help me get there. I’m also snagging these wrist weights on sale.

Shoe Protector Spray & Biodegradable Sneaker Cleaning Wipes

My family is traveling to Alaska later this summer, and in a development that will surprise no parent anywhere, my 12-year-old is not interested in either owning or wearing any type of boot or appropriate footwear for seven days of hiking in the Klondike. My solution: a can of this waterproofing spray, a pair of old basketball shoes, and a prayer. Who knows if it will work or not; if you want to find out, just look for the family walking around Juneau with a tween who looks like he has wet, muddy clumps of mud for feet. —Kat Merck

Rio Trio Body Cream Discovery Set

Remember Regina George’s army pants and flip flops? Well, my fellow reviewer Boutayna Chokrane bought Sol De Janeiro’s Rio Trio Discovery Set, so I bought the Rio Trio discovery set. There are three different body creams in the package, each one promising different types of results, and my fellow writers have confirmed that the popular Brazilian Bum Bum Cream included in the set smells amazing. I can’t wait to see what they all smell like, and to hear which one both Boutayna and I like best of the set. We’ve validated our purchase with the fact that all three of these are travel-sized, so you can bring them along on your next plane flight.

Conveniently Eco-Friendly Coffee

I felt really bad flying through as many K-Cups as I did with my Keurig coffee maker, so kudos to whoever thought to invent a more eco-friendly solution. Pro tip: Buy filters to go with these pods; they make the machine run a lot more smoothly. —Julia Forbes

The New Parent’s Necessity

Courtesy of Shynerk

With the impending arrival of our first child, my wife and I are learning that the amount of physical things you can acquire for said child is seemingly infinite. That’s why we’ve been grabbing everything we can from friends and family and scooping up the rest on super sales. Like this very affordable baby mirror, our second such purchase for our second vehicle. We can’t wait to get eyes (and keep eyes) on the little tyke, and this is a fun reminder. —Ryan Waniata
