Where Is Xbox’s Year In Review? Don’t Expect a Spotify Wrapped-Like Recap
SHARE

December has been filled with tech brands sharing Spotify Wrapped-like rundowns detailing how you’ve used their services throughout the year. Even my grocery store of choice gave me a breakdown of what I’ve bought throughout 2025.

Many of the major gaming platforms have introduced recaps for the year with versions from both PlayStation and Steam, and Nintendo has confirmed its own version is coming in January. If you’re an Xbox player, Microsoft appears to be skipping its own version this year.

The last few years have seen Xbox run its Year In Review program to give you a breakdown of how you’ve played games, but a report from Windows Central suggests it won’t happen in 2025. According to reporter Jez Corden’s sources, Microsoft is skipping Year In Review to spend the associated budget on projects throughout 2026.

Next year marks the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand, while Blizzard is celebrating its 35th anniversary, and Bethesda will be 40 years old.

Microsoft has yet to officially confirm that it won’t host a Year In Review for 2025, so the brand may surprise us with a last-minute rollout. That’s unlikely though, and if Corden’s sources are correct it will mean Xbox players see a bigger celebration in 2026.

If you’re an Xbox player and you feel like you’re missing out, you’re in luck. A third-party alternative from True Achievements will show you a breakdown of your play time throughout the year. You need to connect the website to your Xbox account for it to pull the data directly from Microsoft’s tools.
