Daniel Tobok Explains How Leadership Can Prepare for AI Cyber Threats

The rise of artificial intelligence has resulted in several undeniable benefits for society as a whole, however, it’s far from being universally good. Daniel Tobok, founder and CEO of CYPFER, sees AI as a powerful accelerator of threat levels.

Artificial intelligence increases cybersecurity threats on many levels. First, it drastically lowers the barrier to entry for would-be cybercriminals. In the past, someone had to possess significant technical skills to have any level of success as a cybercriminal.

Now, with the right tools, even those with poor to average computing skills may be able to start committing online crimes. This, however, is not the only way AI threatens business owners.

Another AI amplifier of threat levels is automation. “AI lets criminals automate every stage of a cyberattack,” says Tobok. “It also often evolves quickly enough to escape detection.”

AI has ushered in a new era of cyberattacks and malware, and this calls for a change in the way tech professionals handle cybersecurity risks.

Tobok believes the future of cybersecurity lies in proactivity rather than reactivity. It’s a philosophy he refers to as Cyber Certainty™.

Cyber Certainty™ is the concept that lies at the core of CYPFER. The organization is the world’s fastest-growing cybersecurity business, largely thanks to its hyper-personalized and comprehensive approach.

“The key to Cyber Certainty™ is to be digitally diligent and cyber sensitive,” Tobok explains. “We demonstrate digital diligence by being proactive in all that we do. By looking for vulnerabilities and potential threats ahead of time, we lessen our clients’ risk of harm.”

“Being ‘cyber sensitive’ means being cautious with any kind of digital activity,” he continues. “It’s easy for companies to underestimate the risk of a data breach until it actually happens.”

Tobok believes that if company executives are to keep their data safe, a paradigm shift is needed. Cybersecurity has been an afterthought in the boardroom for too long, and more often than not, C-suite teams think cybersecurity is best left to a company’s IT department.

Before the dawn of AI this may have been true; however, as Tobok continually stresses to his clients, Cyber Certainty™ is something that must be embedded into a company’s DNA.

“So many of today’s business leaders treat cybersecurity as a mere tech issue,” he says. “To truly shield their companies from AI-powered threats, executives must start seeing cybersecurity as a business imperative.”

Executives already familiar with the risks of AI are working to shield sensitive data from would-be cyberattacks. Some companies, on the other hand, may need to weather a data breach before they understand how much is at stake.

Fortunately, CYPFER isn’t only about prevention. The company offers 24/7 global support for businesses experiencing cyberattacks. Once CYPFER has contained the threat, it can help the client take steps to reduce the risk of a similar attack in the future.

Tobok understands that AI has made massive gains in a few short years, and for many people, keeping up is a challenge.

“We’re here to help companies around the world navigate these difficult changes,” he says. “We meet our clients where they are.”
