CUSTOMERS could be given $10 in credit after YouTube TV admitted that some users want to cancel their subscriptions.

The streaming giant is in talks with a huge broadcaster, which could result in several massive channels being axed if a deal isn’t reached.

YouTube TV regularly partners with major brands in order to expand the range of content that it offers.

One of the streaming platform’s partners is Fox, which is the home of huge channels including Fox News and Fox Sports.

However, the brand’s current agreement with fox runs out on August 27 and, if a deal isn’t agreed, YouTube TV users could lose access to Fox’s channels.

Ahead of the 27th, YouTube TV has unveiled plans to offer its users $10 in credit – if a deal isn’t reached.

Meanwhile, the online platform has said that it is “committed to continuing to work with Fox to reach an agreement”.

In an email sent out to users, YouTube TV gave some revealed that it wanted to be “transparent” about the discussions.

The email read: “We want to be transparent about these discussions; if we are unable to reach an agreement with Fox by August 27, 2025, their content may become unavailable.

“If this happens, this will impact channels like the Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News and Fox Sports, as well as any Library recordings you have from these channels.

“We know how frustrating it is to lose channels, which is why it’s our goal to keep Fox on YouTube TV.

“We’re committed to continuing to work with Fox to reach an agreement, but if their content becomes unavailable for an extended period of time, we’ll offer our subscribers a $10 credit.”

Official trailer for ‘The Waterfront’ on Netflix

The email also said that Fox fans can continue to watch the network’s shows on Fox One.

The news comes after Netflix announced that one of its hit shows had been canceled, despite it having 11 million viewers.

The Waterfront was a fan favourite show and spent five weeks in Netflix’s global Top 10 charts upon its release.

Starring Jake Weary, Maria Belo, Holt McCallany, and Melissa Benoist, the show took viewers on an emotional journey as the characters sought to uncover a dark crime.

Kevin Williamson, the show’s creator, had previously spoken about his plans for a second series – before news of the programme’s cancellation broke.

Netflix also confirmed that the hugely popular Queer Eye series would be ending after 10 seasons.

The show saw a group of iconic gay men transforming the lives of people across America.

Participants were given makeovers, as well as home renovations and lessons on how to cook.

Meanwhile, the streaming giant unveiled a new Zodiac Watchlist feature which tells users which shows they should watch based on their astrological sign.

Each sign has a curated list of films to watch with Virgos being recommended everything from The Queen’s Gambit to Now You See Me.

The streaming service titled the list “Virgos Are Always Hustling”, in reference to the sign’s hardworking nature.

Pisces, on the other hand, has a playlist entitled “Pisces Manifest the Dream”.

That whimsical playlist includes beautiful rom-coms and feel good movies such as Yesterday and 13 Going On 30.
