DJI presented the Osmo Pocket 4P in Cannes. On the program: cinema dynamic range, 10-bit D-Log2 and improved low light. Price still unknown.

It’s a launch designed to get people talking. DJI chose the Cannes Film Festival to unveil the Osmo Pocket 4P, the fourth generation of its stabilized pocket camera. A deliberate choice of scene, which says something about the brand’s ambitions for this device: no longer targeting only content creators, but also addressing documentarians and independent filmmakers. An announcement that comes just a few days after the launch of the Osmo Mobile 8P.

Dual lens and 10-bit D-Log2 video

Launched on May 14, 2026 on the sidelines of the festival, the Pocket 4P features an imaging system “new generation” dual-lens lens capable of cinema-level dynamic range and 10-bit D-Log2 recording. This logarithmic profile, until now reserved for much bulkier cameras, opens the way to professional colorimetric calibration in post-production. DJI has not communicated precise figures on the resolution, the size of the sensor or the available frame rates, which is as much information as is expected to seriously evaluate the promises.

Portrait, zoom and low light: the three areas of the model

Three areas of improvement are highlighted compared to the previous generation. The portrait rendering is intended to be refined, with more natural skin tones and better depth, which will be of direct interest to vloggers and human-centered short format directors. The zoom also improves in quality according to DJI, allowing distant subjects to be framed without sacrificing image sharpness. Finally, low-light performance is significantly improved thanks to revised sensor technology and optimized imaging algorithms. This point is often critical on compact cameras.

The device obviously fits into the existing DJI ecosystem, including compatibility displayed with the DJI Power 1000 Mini, launched last April, and the DJI Power 2000, both presented at the Cannes event as nomadic power solutions.

Price and availability: nothing official yet

What is still missing is the essential on the buyer’s side: the price and availability date are not communicated. DJI only indicates that the Pocket 4P will be sold through its official channels and authorized distributors, with announcements to come. Note that the Osmo Pocket 4, tested in our columns, is currently available from 479 euros and up to 619 euros in its Creator bundle. You should expect a necessarily higher price for this new dual-lens version.
