3. The area manager recognizes which ones There is potential in its employeescan absorb ideas and guide them through the day with much more attention.

4. The department heads arrive well prepared to the appointment and present their content. They realize that this meeting is for their own benefit, so they also ensure that the time is spent wisely. They even have ideas about what they want to present at the meeting after next.

5. It became Absolute discipline was observed by everyone. And yet people laugh too – even more than before. But there will be no more rambling discussions and no more deviation from the agenda. Because everyone is paying attention. Only then will it work!

How do you have the perfect team meeting?

Instead of making assumptions about what’s good or needs improvement in your meeting, what the content should be, and who the attendees should be, run a simple poll of all attendees. It’s best to send a link to participants asking for feedback immediately after your next appointment. Follow up if there are too few answers.

I always use Google Forms for such a query because the forms are very easy to create and customize and the results can be exported as desired. You can find an example of such a feedback form on Google for your team meeting here: https://goo.gl/forms/a30MRHZ0V8559bZj1

Alternatively, the meeting feedback form is also available as a PDF here: https://www.targetter.de/checklisten/feedback-formular-fuer-effective-meetings-und-befragen/

The most important thing about such a feedback form

1. Maximum of 5 questionsotherwise no one will take part because it (apparently) takes too much time.

2. One or two questions where you have a Insertquery etching. Use one for this Scale from 1 – 5 or 1 – 10, with the highest value always representing the optimum.

3. Another three to four concrete questions regarding improvements, expectations and wishes.

4. One of the questions must be aimed at asking the respondent those involved close (“Was kyou can do…“).

And if you then find that content that you personally considered incredibly important has been “deselected,” then that either means you need to drastically change the way you deliver it, or that the topic is of no interest to anyone else. Then leave it out.

Setting up the form will take you no more than five minutes. The result can save you hours and, most importantly, dramatically improve the motivation and productivity of your employees.

Let’s look back at the first example: The survey of participants there showed that almost everyone rated the effectiveness as mediocre. And everyone admitted that they themselves could do something to increase this effectiveness. There were concrete suggestions for improvement, which were implemented in the next meeting.

Feedback must be routine – even in meetings

Try it. But don’t just do it once, make evaluating meetings through feedback queries a routine.

So now it’s best to copy my Google form (https://goo.gl/forms/a30MRHZ0V8559bZj1), adapt it if necessary and send it to your participants after the next meeting. And after the next one. And the next one…

10 tips for better meetings

Nobody has to show up
Employees who are visibly bored should be advised to abstain in the future.

Cookies gone too!
Malnutrition is rare in German offices. Nobody needs cookies, they just make you fat and sleepy.

Cool and fresh
If the conference room is poorly heated, the duration of the meeting will be noticeably shortened.

Clear Moderation
Clear moderation helps and streamlines. But the boss doesn’t always have to be at the front. It could also be an intern who has just familiarized herself with the topic.

Small groups
Any meeting with more than seven people is considered ineffective.

Two topics are enough
If you list five topics, you can potentially attract 30 people to the conference room, most of whom only know one topic but will still give their two cents on all five.

Stay on task
Going from stick to stick and back again can be amusing, but it doesn’t lead anywhere.

Also stop sometimes
Quick meetings in small groups should take place without chairs. This increases concentration, and no one can play with their smartphone without appearing extremely disinterested.

Smartphones weg!
Just show your colleague your new dog? The moderator should prevent such nonsense during the meeting in advance.

On time front and back
Meetings should start and end on time. Anyone who is always late is saying: “I’m not interested in your stuff.”
