Google rolled out two Chrome updates in the space of 24 hours to fix 27 vulnerabilities. Two critical flaws have also been closed.
Google is pulling out all the stops to secure Chrome. On July 7, 2026, the Mountain Giant first deployed a first update of its browser, without mentioning its content, referenced 150.0.7871.100/101. Two critical flaws plugged by Google
As Google explains, the update fixes a total of 27 vulnerabilities identified in the Chrome code. Among the vulnerabilities fixed, two of the breaches are classified as critical. In both cases, these are “use-after-free” vulnerabilities.
These failures occur when a program continues to use an area of memory after freeing it. By exploiting this phenomenon, an attacker is able to inject malicious code and execute it without the user’s knowledge. The two critical flaws are located in Chrome’s Ozone and Views components, internal elements responsible for managing the browser’s display and graphical interface. Note that “use-after-free” vulnerabilities represent almost half of the flaws identified and corrected.
In addition, 23 of the 27 flaws are considered high risk by Google security teams. In its safety notice, the company specifies thatnone of these flaws have been exploited by cybercriminals For now. Most of the flaws were discovered by Google researchers, not external researchers.
These fixes are deployed only a week after the arrival of Chrome 150a major update that had already closed more than 400 vulnerabilities in the browser code. The next major version, Chrome 151, is already announced for the end of July 2026.
Without delay, install the update to protect yourself from possible attacks. Open Chrome, click on the three dots at the top right of the screen, then go to “Help”, and finally “About Google Chrome”. The browser will look for a new version on its own and download it automatically. Then simply click on the “Relaunch” button to activate the security patches. Even better, enable automatic updates.
