How Agentic AI Readiness is in selected countries.
Fivetran
Almost 60 percent of companies are already investing millions in Agentic AI. But only 15 percent of companies are actually prepared to use this technology productively and reliably. And it gets even worse if you believe Fivetran’s Agentic AI Readiness Index 2026: According to this, companies are blindly rushing into the use of autonomous AI systems without having created the necessary data base.
Redpoint Ventures surveyed 400 data professionals across the United States, United Kingdom, EMEA and Asia Pacific for the index. Respondents include data architects, data engineers, analytics executives and other decision makers who are responsible for building and operating data infrastructures and AI systems in medium-sized and large companies. The companies were evaluated based on the central data requirements that Agentic AI needs for reliable operation. The most important include data timeliness, data lineage, governance and interoperability.
Ambition versus reality
George Fraser, CEO of Fivetran, warns in light of the results: “Most companies fail with AI not because of the models, but because their data is not ready.” The use of autonomous AI based on fragile pipelines, he soberly concludes, does not lead to better results, but only to “faster failures”.
