Allcodube iPlay 70 Max Pro in the test: 13-inch tablet with LTE for just 210 euros

Large tablet for a small price: The Alldocube iPlay 70 Max Pro offers a 13-inch IPS display, Widevine L1 and LTE. But where are the weaknesses?

Inexpensive tablets are well suited as entertainment devices for the couch – for watching YouTube or streaming videos, even on the go and on vacation. Most inexpensive models only reach up to 12 inches diagonally. The new Alldocube iPlay 70 Max Pro offers a generous 13 inches – with a high resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels.

Thanks to Widevine L1, streaming is also possible in Full HD – there is also an LTE modem so you can be mobile on the go. In this test we will clarify whether this is the insider tip of the year or a deception.

Design

The tablet has a generous size of 298 × 193 × 7.0 mm and a relatively high weight of around 680 g. This makes it almost as big as a sheet of DIN A4 – just a little narrower in height.

The workmanship is quite clean, but overall it seems rather simple. The housing frame is made of plastic, which is intended to benefit LTE reception. The back, however, is made of metal – so that the magnetic cover can stick to it. Gap dimensions are not noticeable. The camera is housed in a square element with strongly rounded corners that protrudes minimally. However, the device emits an unpleasant, chemical-like smell.

Display

The screen has a large diagonal of 13 inches in a 16:10 format. The resolution is razor-sharp with 2560 × 1600 pixels (WQXGA) – pixels can hardly be seen with the eye at a pixel density of 230 PPI. The panel technology used is IPS with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The display is quite reflective. With a maximum brightness of just 300 cd/m², the device is only suitable for indoor use.

In principle, the image quality is okay – but here you can see that it is a cheaper model. The viewing angle stability is not as pronounced as with models from Samsung or Xiaomi. Colors also seem a bit weak and unnatural. The coating on the display is somewhat unusual: it makes operating via touch input a little more difficult and feels as if it slows down your fingers.

Camera

Typical for inexpensive tablets: The camera equipment is very simple. The main camera offers 13 megapixels, the front camera for selfies only 5 megapixels. This is okay for the occasional photograph of documents or a video chat – but in practice you will hardly use the camera. The image quality is correspondingly weak, which is typical for this category.

equipment

The Unisoc T7300 serves as the drive – this is more of a lower middle class. The performance is sufficient for everyday tasks; the system usually reacts immediately to inputs – pauses for thought are limited. With 12,500 points on PCMark, it ranks in the typical middle class of tablets.

The graphics performance, on the other hand, is rather modest, as shown by the 1240 points in 3DMark Wild Life. So it’s not intended for graphically complex titles – but it is for simple casual games.

The main memory is 8 GB of RAM – quite decent for the price, but nothing special. The manufacturer advertises the device on Amazon with 16 GB of RAM – but this is expanded virtually via the memory, which is usually significantly slower than permanently installed RAM. 128 GB of internal memory is available. Pleasing: Expansion via microSD card is possible.

It offers mobile communications out of the box – albeit only LTE (4G). You can also surf mobile with a SIM card. The home network at least works with Wi-Fi 6 – especially in cheap models there are even more often ones that only come with Wi-Fi 5. Bluetooth 5.4 is available for peripheral devices. A GPS module is also available together with the modem – so you could also use the large tablet for navigation, although this is probably a rare use case given its size.

There is no fingerprint scanner, which is not surprising given the price. The four speakers deliver a decent and spatial stereo sound, which is, however, a bit high-pitched and occasionally sounds tinny. But this is sufficient for watching video clips.

The set optionally includes a magnetic protective cover, which also serves as a stand and leaves a good impression. This consists of a fiberglass plate over which artificial leather was stretched. A loop in the case is used to store the stylus.

There is also a small Bluetooth keyboard and a passive input pen – both of which are less convincing. The keyboard can’t really be mounted in the protective case, and the pressure point isn’t perfect for long typing – but it’s enough for a short email. The pen is not very precise, which is typical for passive versions. It does not require a Bluetooth connection or electricity.

Software

The iPlay 70 Max Pro comes to buyers with Android 16. After starting you will receive an update straight away. However, the security patch dates from February 2026 and is therefore no longer current. From our experience, we have to say that regular updates are not to be expected from Chinese manufacturers like Alldocube – another version upgrade also seems unlikely to us. This is probably the biggest weak point of the cheap device.

The interface is based on stock Android, but brings colored elements into the settings. The drop-down menu is divided into two parts: on the left are the quick settings for brightness, Bluetooth or WLAN, and on the right are the notifications. Everything seems very tidy. There is a bar at the bottom where you can place the most important apps. There is practically no bloatware – which is very pleasing. Double-tap the screen to put the device into sleep mode. You can take a screenshot with three fingers at the same time.

Thanks to the Widevine Level 1 certificate, you can use content via streaming providers such as Netflix in Full HD – that is also commendable.

Battery

The battery has a capacity of 10,000 mAh – that’s not too much for the size, but some competitors offer at least 10 percent more capacity. In the PCMark battery test, we achieved a simulated continuous runtime of 8.5 hours at a brightness of 200 cd/m². This is neither bad nor excessively long and is roughly in the middle of the test field. It charges with up to 30 W in just over two hours – a power adapter is included. There is no wireless charging.

Preis

The Alldocube iPlay 70 Max Pro normally costs 300 euros. However, it is currently available for 210 euros as part of Prime Day 2026 – a real bargain. They come in a bundle with a protective case, Bluetooth keyboard and passive pen 240 Euro.

Conclusion

he Alldocube iPlay 70 Max Pro offers a lot for a comparatively low price. The display is large and offers high resolution. Widevine L1 is also on board – which makes streaming with Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video in Full HD possible. The performance is sufficient for simple surfing and streaming.

However, there are also weaknesses. Apart from the good resolution, the image quality is rather unspectacular, and the display is relatively dark, which means that the device is primarily intended for indoor use. You shouldn’t expect regular software updates here – which could become a security problem in the long run. The smell was also annoying – apart from the protective cover, the accessories in the bundle couldn’t be knocked off your feet either.

But if you’re looking for a tablet that’s as large as possible but cheap for streaming on the couch or on vacation, you’ll get a decent Android tablet with some compromises.
