Ant Group launched AQ, an AI-powered healthcare app aimed at expanding its footprint in the medical sector on Thursday. According to the company, the app provides over 100 digital services, including doctor recommendations and medical report analysis, and connects users to resources from more than 5,000 hospitals and 1 million doctors across China. The launch comes as China’s aging population is expected to exceed 400 million people over 60 by 2035, driving increased demand for accessible healthcare.
AQ is built on Ant’s Healthcare Large Model, which supports advanced medical reasoning and complies with national data security standards. The company has also integrated the model into hospital systems and public services through tools like Angel and Yibaoer, two AI agents used for hospital and insurance inquiries. Following its acquisition of online medical platform Haodf, Ant is piloting AI doctor assistants and agents to aid with diagnosis, patient education, and resource-limited healthcare delivery.
