Football comes to Netflix with the new FIFA World Cup game

The June 11, 2026 will mark the kick-off of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and at the same time the exclusive release on Netflix of the video game FIFA World Cup: Launch Editiondeveloped by Delphi Interactive. A collaboration between FIFA and Netflix Games for a football game on the Netflix TV application which was unveiled at the end of 2025.

A video game for beginners and regulars

With FIFA World Cup: Launch Editionthe television becomes the stadium and the smartphone turns into a game controller.

After launching the game from the “Games” tab of Netflix on TVa QR code must be scanned with the phone to start playing. Supporting up to four players, the game is a mix of simulation and arcade.

” You can swipe to shoot or pass in seconds. Even if you’ve never touched a video game in your life, you’ll experience the incredible feeling of scoring the winning goal. “

What content will players be able to find at launch?

Upon its release on June 11, the game will offer immersion in the official competition. Players will be able to take control of any of the 48 teams qualified for the tournament, and for a total of 1,248 players modeled.

The experience at no additional cost for Netflix subscribers will take place in the 16 real stadiums of the competition, distributed between the United States, Mexico and Canada.

This “Launch Edition” is like a new series on Netflix that will evolve over time. Updates will add depth, complexity, and technical improvements as the tournament progresses and the player community grows.

The opportunity for a new audience for Netflix Games

With FIFA World Cup: Launch EditionNetflix will strengthen its catalog of games on TV which is currently available in around twenty countries*, including France. The video game is part of the streaming platform’s desire to become a major player in interactive entertainment.

Thanks to this FIFA game, Netflix will be able to capitalize on a global event to boost its gaming division, which is experiencing difficulties despite heavy investments. Netflix Games initially favored franchises recognized as GTA: San Andreas on mobile, then party games on TV.
