Grand Valley State University is offering a free online artificial intelligence course to help community members better understand how to use the technology in their daily lives and work.
The “AI Literacy for Life and Work” course is open to the public, students, faculty and staff, according to a community announcement. The offering is organized by the school’s Department of Information Technology and the College of Computing, and is delivered via an online network of seven modules.
The course covers key concepts such as effective communication with AI, ethical and responsible use, and workplace applications. The curriculum aligns with a new framework released by the U.S. Department of Labor.

“AI is rapidly changing the way we learn, work and live,” wrote Marouane Kessentini, dean of the GVSU College of Computing. “(GVSU) is committed to being a leader in applied, ethical and workforce-aligned AI innovation for the benefit of our students, faculty, staff and (community).”
