Huawei on Tuesday unveiled its first companion chat robot, Smart Hanhan, at a product launch event. Priced at RMB 399 ($55), the furry toy-like device will go on sale starting Nov. 28. The robot supports human-like interaction, offering touch-based responses such as stroking and tickling triggered by touch or blowing. It can also provide daily rhythm services, including morning greetings and bedtime good-night messages based on the user’s schedule. Smart Hanhan is customizable in that users can adjust its fur color and add accessories to create a personalized look. Powered by HarmonyOS technology, the device supports cross-device state syncing and Huawei’s “tap-to-share” feature for quick interaction between devices. [Huawei, in Chinese]
