iFi Audio has announced the next generation of its network streamers, the NEO Stream 3 and ZEN Stream 3.

These are two upgraded models designed to bring higher-resolution streaming and broader connectivity to existing hi-fi setups.

Both devices build on their predecessors with revised hardware, updated software and expanded streaming support. At the centre of the upgrade is iFi’s latest ultra-resolution streaming engine. This engine now adds Qobuz Connect alongside Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2, as well as improved stability and a more refined web interface.

The flagship NEO Stream 3 is positioned as an all-in-one solution. It incorporates the DAC stage from the NEO iDSD 2 and is built around a Burr-Brown chipset tuned for natural detail and musicality, supporting 768kHz PCM and DSD512. It also features iFi’s integration of JVCKENWOOD’s K2HD technology, which restores harmonic detail lost during recording and encoding while optionally upsampling audio to 192kHz.

Hardware refinements extend beyond resolution support. Both streamers now feature upgraded polymer and ELNA Silmic II capacitors for cleaner power delivery and smoother treble response.

Noise reduction is also a focus, with built-in iPurifier2 technology on S/PDIF outputs and Active Noise Cancellation on USB ports to minimise signal interference. The NEO Stream 3 further includes iFi’s OptiBox optical isolation, designed to eliminate network noise before it enters the system.

For users who already own a high-end DAC, the ZEN Stream 3 takes a more targeted approach. It drops the integrated DAC but retains high-resolution streaming up to 384kHz PCM and DSD256, along with K2 processing. The aim is simple: upgrade streaming performance without replacing existing hardware.

Both models introduce updated IoT hardware and compatibility with the iFi Nexis app, allowing for easier setup and firmware updates. iFi’s Exclusive Modes also return, disabling unused processes during playback to reduce potential system noise.

The NEO Stream 3 is available now for £999 / $999 / €999, while the ZEN Stream 3 comes in at £399 / $399 / €399.

For hi-fi enthusiasts looking to modernise their systems without sacrificing sound quality, iFi’s third-generation streamers represent a clear step forward, whether you want an all-in-one digital hub or a dedicated streaming upgrade.
